Extended Battery

Ok,
I love my PPC-6700, but after spending 4 hours in the ER with my GF tonight, I realized the battery life sucks. Has anyone bought an extended battery for a PPC-6700 on eBay? If you suggest somewhere else, where? I don't like going through 60% of my battery in 4 hours.........

In most cases it is not worth the "upgrade(s)." Not only do you have to buy the extended battery, but also the extended battery door and most likely a new holster/case to carry it. After all that, you're only getting an increased capacity of approximately 25%.

I have a case

You can't get one thru sprint since the thing is ALWAYS on backorder. and with the phone going end of life it really isn't worth it. If you do end up with a ext battery I have an extra case I am willing to send. just hit me up with a pm. =D

I have the seidio 3200 and I highly recommend it. Now the question is with the Device coming to EOS, are you planning on still keeping it a while or switching up to the latest and greatest? b/c if so, don't buy it, but if you are keeping it, yes definitly it is one of the best things youll buy. they also carry a case just for the difference in the thickness. little harder to get used to the thickness but oh so worth it. i go 3 or 4 days without charging, and thats with streaming, email, messaging and some pretty decent length calls.

Chris.

P.S the Seidio 3200 comes with the back battery door.

i'm gonna keep it for a while. i will prolly get the seidio 3200mah battery (very soon actually).

I'm just gonna get the Seido one that is about 15% larger and still fits into the stock battery back. I don't want this thing any more bulky. Then I will carry my stock battery as a spare in case the other goes out. No worries there. :)

I just got 2 more oems ($9/ea off ebay) and I bring one with me. Never been a problem, 99/100 days I don't even use it, I just rotate the battery in the phone every few weeks to spread the charge/discharge cycles.

JackSchitt28 02-12-2007 08:38 PM

i use an extended battery from ebay and couldnt be happier. of course the price is cheap, but the thing lasts all day, and of course with the EOL on the phone, this will work til the pretty little 6800 hits the shelves.

slypher 02-13-2007 08:51 AM

I went with the cheapie $17 extended battery from Ebay. OMG what a difference. You may hear that you don't get much more battery life...but with this battery i can talk for at least an hour (sometimes more) during the day, have my direct push running on the "as items arrive" setting and still have 90% of battery after my 9.5 hour shift. Definitely a worth while investment for only $17.

The only thing that really sux is that the battery is humongous, gotta take the good with the bad i guess (unless you cough up more money for an OEM sized higher capacity battery)

Just my two cents.

Good luck on whichever battery you decide on!

Hi,

I am from Venezuela and have the cellphone service in Movistar.

The standard battery life was only 12 hours!!!!!!!!! I bought last december the Seido 3200mAh and the case for extended battery and it works very fine :P .

The new battery life is around 36 or 48 hours, that depend of the use.

By the way sorry for my english..... I speak spanish in Venezuela ... :)

Regards

i used the oem reg batt for a while and the batt life was pissing me off.. i also cheaped out and went on ebay.. bought another oem and an extended batt.. i couldn't ask for nothing more.. even just using the 2 regular batts and switching them around when one dies i found was more then enough for the day.. for 5 bucks i got a home charger, car charger and regular batt.. with those chargers and additional batts i can't say i have had battery issues since..

End of Life doesnt mean the end of the 6700as we know it. I got mine for $200 brand new and since the alledged 6800 isnt even on the shelves yet, buying an extended battery at this time is worth the investment.

I definitely plan on buying one; probably as soon as I click submit to this post!

i ordered the slim extended battery today. i'm hoping i actually get it saturday (i.e. before my next trip for work).

Has anyone tried the LionBatteryhttp://lionbattery.com/description.php?noproduit=321
I'm thinking of getting that one, and EBCase has an extended case

http://www.ebcases.com/-strse-3372/S...EXP/Detail.bok
Always had an extended with the 6600, and definitely would like more power.

Catman51 04-04-2007 08:16 PM

As an update, I ordered the Lion and the EB Case.
Will let you know how it goes as soon as in.
I have the Krusell case from PCS-Ltd.com, and really like it.
On my old PPC660, I had the Lion and a few cases, and it fit in all of them, tightly, but they worked.
I really loved the EB Case for that phone, great clip. Hated the Piel Frama only because the clip was a real piece of crap.
With the Krussell, I ordered the slide on belt clip, and you can do cartwheels without the phone coming off of that.
Talked with Lion and EB before ordering and the battery from Lion only extends .037 inches further, so that doesn't seem too bad.

If you can send it back, you might want to get the 3200mah one here: http://www.seidioonline.com/index.as...ROD&ProdID=445

I love it so far.

romulus15 04-05-2007 08:19 PM

I bought one from my local battery center. Battery cost $21.74 including the extended battery cover. It says it's a 1400 mAH LIOn, but it's probably a 3200. I can get almost 2.5 days of time out of it doing push synching with my exchange server.

It's an awesome battery. I don't use it anymore since I broke the darn battery cover. Gotta find a new one, just haven't had time.

It was the best price I found from a reputable place that wasn't ebay.

Catman51 04-06-2007 09:37 PM

After reading all the customer service problems with Seidio on this forum and others, I decided to shy away from them. I've never had a problem with CS from Lion. 2 extended's for the 6600, and when one of the originals had a problem, they were quick to respond.
That's why I went with them.
Gotta tell ya, loved the EB Case with my 6600, and am really liking it with the 6700.
