telus extended rom
 

hey guys,
I'm new to the site and I have managed to screw up my phone. I have a telus 6700 utstarcom and I really like it but i thought I would try to put on a new bata program "custom 3.3" for Sprint
it went on O.K. but i have no ext rom and my phone dosent work, so I tried to put my phone back to the original telus update and it is saying
ERROR 120: COUNTRY ID ERROR and it wont let me put it back.
How do I change that setting so the update will recognise that my phone is telus and not Sprint? :oops:

Did you follow the instructions exactly as they were written?

I had no trouble getting my Telus 6700 flashed... but all you need to do to fix your phone is just reflash it with the AKU 2.1 update which can be found either through Telus' website or through the UTStarcom website. Once you flash it back, then you should be able to do the 3.3 update.

I think i have the 3.3 update working, I have a telus ext. rom working but I have no Radio rom.
How do I put a telus radio rom, it will not let me flash with a telus update. I keep getting country ID error and thats because I put on the full sprint 3.3 update.
However I do have a great Sprint pda right now....

Have you tried putting the phone in bootloader mode and then running the official update? Also, you could use winrar to extract the Telus upgrade. Also use Winrar to extract the custom 3.3 installer that you used into a different folder. Once extracted, copy the nk.nbf, ms_.nbf, and radio.nbf from the Telus upgrade into the folder where you extracted the custom installer. Then place your phone in bootloader mode and run the MaUpgrade utility app.

Thanks for the advice, I was able to extract and replace all that you suggested but when I ran the utility the screens came up and said it was going to update but it didn't list any files.
They weren't loading, damn I felt so close... any other ideas?

does anyone know how to make the loader program execute the radio rom and ext rom files?
I did extract with winrar and replaced the files but when i run the upgrade file it doesnt load the rom files. :?

yeah that happened with me also.. i couldn't install colonel's aku 3.3 with telus ext rom.. wouldn't work.. so i just flashed the phone with the original telus rom.. then installed colonel's rom without the ext portion and that was the only way i got around it to get colonel's update installed..
