Touch Screen Replace?

The screen display just fine, but I don't have the touch.

It doesn't respond to the screen touches.

Can the touch portion of the screen be replaced without replacing the entire screen?

Thanks.

There are many many threads about replacing the screen(s) here. Some are for the digitizer and some are for the LCD itself. Check around and you will find those threads.

Here's a good guide to taking apart the Apache. It will come in handy. It is much easier to replace the whole screen/digitizer than it is to replace the digitiizer alone.

Thanks. I have the 6700 taken apart. Just not sure if I want to try and replace the digitizer alone or purchase the screen/digitizer as a whole.

The lcd screen if bright with no bad spots and works very well....just not touch sense. Can use the dpad and buttons to do most but the lack of touch is driving me crazy.

use the dpad as little as possible or you will start to see looseness soon. Im serious. its cheap and a POS.

It's a plug-and-go with the whole unit. Separating and installing the digitizer alone is a royal pain. Just my 0.02.
