Hey drdex - where is this magical "546140" number comming from? Or is that like a default SPC/MSL for his carrier...?... kinda like the MSL's for verizon being all zeros?

DoctorDex 02-14-2007 01:34 PM

According to my carrier, 000000 is their default code. However, when I plugged 000000 into QPST it couldn't log on. So, instead I looked on the box and there was a sticker with two six digit numbers. One was 111111 (which didn't work) and the other one was 546140 (which worked).

I am assuming the MSL would be the same for all PPC6700's from SaskTel. Maybe Kspare can try it on his/her phone and let us know.

Update

Sorry to drag an old thread up from the depths, but I figured I'd post an update.

The verizon XV6700 has been working well under SaskTel, until recently when I started "roaming". Not sure why this is, but it worked fine for the first 3 weeks of roaming. The last week, the phone had service, but it wouldn't make or receive calls/texts. I was forced to use the original backup (cloned) phone. Upon returning to my home town, the XV6700 started making calls again. Not sure why its being so flaky.

can anyone tell me how to master reset this phone

unblock file system

Hello, I'm trying to change the MSL code because my carrier can´t activate my phone.

The BitPim program send this message when I try to save the modification:

"Access to the file/directory has been blocked on this phone by the phone provider"

Is there a way to unblock the file system?

I have a Verizon 6700, and I'm trying to activate it in Mexico with Iusacell.

Regards.

Edit: And technically you can look up the SPC and MSL yourself using BitPim and those drivers your posted. Just look in nvm for nvm_security. The first number is your MSL, second is the OTKSL/SPC.

Keep in mind though that if you ever do a master reset (not a hard reset) your MSL and SPC will revert to the original ones. I have not figured out where that data is backed up on the phone, but apparently it is.

How can I do a master reset? Is that the one where you hold the two softkeys and hit reset?
