TEXT Message resend issue
 

Hello,
First off let me THANK you all for all the help you have provided me through search and just general lurking... its made my life easy dealing with my sprint PPC6700's.

now for my problem... my wifes phone at random resends the last text sometimes several messages that have already been sent once... it may happen hour's later or the next day... like I said its very random. I've looked for some simple setting with no luck... oh and the text is NOT sent from text message re-try... its like the phone forgets that the text has already been sent and sends it again. The only way around it is to "clear text history" after every text.

Her phone is fairly basic
stock WM5 rom edited with total commander to get rid of the sprint junk.
a few basic reg tweaks for performance and such... nothing involving Texting(at least that I know of)
she has more games than i care to list but if it would help i will.

for programs she has
total commander, SK tool's, voice command, pocket Plus,MS office,resco back-up... thats about it, like I said it fairly a fairly basic set-up.

If you have any ideas as to what I need to do too stop this text resend please let me know.

I would try the Palm Threaded app as it does changes to the registry and separates the inboxes from how they are normally setup. I will be honest in saying I do not know if it will work but at least should be given a chance. PM me if you want the file

I think it's a conspiracy by (in my case) Sprint. It happens with all the ROMs. It resents messages from friends that have 100% stock phones. It just happened yesterday when the Sprint network was down!

Something stinky here.

PPS: I just got my 3rd msg this morning from the same person.

I spoke with my wife again today about this problem... she had been waiting on ME to find a fix... as usual and failed to up date me...as usual. anyway she told me today that this resend issue has not happened since a few days ago... so for now I'm not going to do a thing... maybe its just something that happens with sprint like you said... at any rate if it ain't broke... DON'T BREAK IT:mrgreen:

If this happens more often that it has so far I'll try the file that weedahoe sent me

I too have had this same issue. I sent a msg to my brother on Sat night. He kept getting the same msg sent to him every so often. When he told me about it I noticed that My phone kept alerting me of an outbound Text msg being sent. So I knew then it was my phone and not his. As you may know a soft reset does nothing to correct the issue. I Called Tech support and only thing they suggested was a Hard Reset. I refused to believe that was the only solution. So I asked my brother to be patient with me until I could figure something out. Not sure How or what made me think of this solution but never the less it worked. I called Customer Service late one night and had them put a Text msg Block on my account preventing me to send or rcv any Text Msgs. Then I shut my phone off over night and in the morning I turned my phone back on and the phone immediatley tried to send the txt but this time because the blocks where on it got stuck and was sent to the Draft folder. I went into the draft folder and deleted the msg and on the way into work I called them back and had them take the Txt msg blocks Off. Since then I have not had the problem happen again. If you think about it, It makes perfect sense. So no need to hard Reset. I hope this helps anyone else who may have had this problem.

I had this problem once with my 6700... don't remember which ROM I was running at the time, but i was using the stock MMS program. My friend and I both thought it was something with his phone (razr on Cingular at the time) until I noticed I had the txt message sitting in the Outbox folder. It would randomly resend him the message but not remove the txt from that folder.
