A2DP problems on AKU 3.3
I have a Jabra BT620 headset that U use with my PPC6700. With the AKU 2.2 custom ROM beta 2 I had no problems with the pair. I've tried two 3.3 ROMs (Hemi_c and Colonel?) but I can't get A2DP working reliably. I was just wondering if anyone else has been having problems and if anyone has a fix for it.
I tried an A2DP fix from XDA with no success, and even tried to load the Widcomm BT stack that Hemi-C is developing, but it wouldn't install. Headset mode works fine, it's A2DP that's having issues. Thoughts? |
What issues? skipping? details please?
I'm using Helmi's with my Moto HT820s. No issues at all except for an infrequent 1 second skip every 20-30 minutes. Robb |
Usually I'll get 4-5 seconds of audio and then it will drop completely. Every once in a while I might get blip, but pretty much nothing plays.
I had it working for a few minutes the XDA A2DP fix CAB, but after I soft reset for something else it stopped working and was just sucking up CPU time so I removed it. I had it working great under AKU 2.2, so I know it's not an incompatibility between the phone and headset. Thanks in advanced. |
Do you use or have you tried the freeware player called MortPlayer http://mort.sto-helit.de/index.php?m...=view&entry=81? I'm using the 3.3 ROM and had skipping problems with Windows Media Player as well as TCPMP. When I started using MortPlayer, skipping and drops were practically eliminated. MortPlayer can also be controlled using the AVRCP Bluetooth profile, so you can pause/stop or forward to the next track using an appropriately enabled Bluetooth headset. I increased the Buffer to max (Menu -Settings-Settings-System-Playback-Buffer). I didn't do any Bluetooth registry hacks, as it works fine for me with the default 3.3 ROM.
Note: I use MP3 files with a bit rate of 128 or 160. I don't believe MortPlayer can play other file types such as WMA. |
No go. It worked better, but not fixed. Choppy for about a minute and then stopped all together. I'm going to reflash my 6700 and try again.

UPDATE: I played with the reg settings a bit more and got A2DP working with Mort Player beautifully. It even works skip free off my SD card. Thanks for the tip dc.

wut chages did u make?? |
I posted this elsewhere, perhaps it might be useful here as well...
After countless hours of trial/error - I got lucky(?) by way of reinstalling older version of xcpuscalar..and BT stereo now works with everything, including audio books. :-) It doesn't make any sense to me, but I don't really care. Even when I reboot the xcpuscalar stays active in the Task Manager and the audio comes through. This is the trial version of xcpuscalar 2005 ver 2.03. It's a quick download, worth a shot before taking drastic measures! Headset BT activation attempts to open dial pad each time though... but no big deal to me, the audio gateway remains open after closing the phone app. (rom version: Colonel 3.3 with twist 2/13/07) |
