Re: sprint insurance replacement
reading this forum in the beginning really helped.... but it took about an hour or more literally to get my 6700 upgraded to a 6800 FOR FREE!!!! I used the suggestions on here and added a few of my own, they transferred me around like 6-7 times then I yelled at the manager and told him they had me wait for an hour to fix my phone which constantly acts up and doesnt work right. Then he transferred me to retention where a nice lady connected me with a local sprint store and told me to just go there and exchange it for a free upgrade of the mogul...So I went to the store, and showed them my 6700 (W/ WM6 still installed)...they told me to come back in thirty minutes while they check it out....then when I returned, they gave me a receipt and my 6700 and told me to come back in 3-5 business days, they ordered a new mogul for me NO CHARGE! YESSSSS, finally, ive been attempting to do this for nearly 2-3 months now..and it finally worked...lol
btw, the reason why i didnt change the rom back was because i busted my usb port on purpose, then realized i couldnt flash back..any suggestions or help? i still have the phone until they call me...thanks Last edited by lawsofpower48; 04-25-2008 at 03:56 PM. |

Re: sprint insurance replacement
Just want to let anyone know. I called and got my phone replace, with a 6800. I asked to replace my phone due to the low volume. The tech asked to either swap out with another 6700 or a 6800. I chose the Mogul. I love my 6700 but the volume level is INCREDIBLEY LOW. It has the latest wm6.1 rom rock solid and fast. I am not sure I will keep the Mogul. Read about it having so many problems, not thinking it may be worth it.
Wonder if the mogul has the massive support for custom rom as the Apache, if not, it will be the Mogul going right back and not the Apache. |

Re: sprint insurance replacement
by the way it only took 9:59 mins as stated by my call log from dialing the *2, waiting, talking to 1 rep, state my problem and ask for upgrade, complete transaction and end call. I did not use any threats and just talked in a calm manner.
But I do know every rep may be a little or alot different. This may have been 1 of the easiest, quickest transactions with sprint replacement yet also there was no option to ask for advanced tech support, just regular. So it was a regular tech she was who helped me upgrade. Last edited by Hayabusa1300cc; 04-27-2008 at 06:48 PM. |

Re: sprint insurance replacement
I just got my Mogul, two weeks ago. I had purchsed a year ago, a Treo 700p. It wouldn't hold on to the network after installing the infamous maintenance release. They swapped it for a 755p. It lasted another 6 months, then started locking up when using the internet browser. The refurb they sent did the same. The third one the headpiece failed, and the fourth refurb went into endless reset loop upon boot up. I told Sprint that if they sent me another Treo, they would lose this customer. So they finally gave me a Mogul, but after 4 Treo swaps.
btw: The Mogul rules. |

Re: sprint insurance replacement
I've had a 6700 for a little over a year now. I love the phone functionally (WM6.1+Apache=SWEET), but hate the looks. I don't have any kind of insurance on the phone. The one year manufacturer's warranty has expired. I recently dropped the phone and the keyboard slide mechanism broke. Basically (when held horizontally) the left side of the phone slides normally, but the right side of the screen is not connected to the keyboard at all. So the keyboard can still slide in and out with some difficulty, but the screen can jiggle about 1/4" off the keyboard on the right side at all times.
As such, I'd love to replace this phone, or better yet get the sexier 6800. Are there any options for me? Can I buy insurance from Asurion and then try the aforementioned methods to replace my phone? Or does the Advanced Exchange program only work if you've had the insurance since you initially bought the phone? Thanks. |
