Actually, I'd be curious if anybody has managed to get Pocket Informant and/or Sprite Backup working. I've tried getting both of them to work, but there seems to be something I'm missing beyond just the file and registry entries....

I still don't know if the guy who's having success with it is running 3.3 or 3.5, If he's running 3.3, then that could be a difference, as I note 3.5 does not have helmi's provxml (ie, your version) and I am pretty sure helmi did some stuff in there cert/permissions wise.

Little delayed response on your unicodesprint OEM, but i got to looking at this more closely. I do have the IOTA directory and associated files created, but helmi's addon with it's provxml is still included in the 3.5 kitchen i posted. Not sure if this could be part of the issue or not, but only the first cert is recognized by my PC when i double click it.

try using the non-unicode one. That's the one that's correct :D

Ahh that explains a lot, i bet i just messed up the flash the one and only time i used the right OEM. DOH!!!

Edit: Tested, and worked perfectly. I can confirm now that the one at http://www.ppcgeeks.com/files/sprintextendedoem_199.zip is the one of the 3 posted that works properly hehe. You might want to take down the ones that don't work if ya can so others don't do what I did :)

Okedoke, good news!

I will upload it to the ftp too... Sorry about that! Probably won't get it uploaded until tomorrow, off to make dindin :D

After looking more closely i'm not sure it's working quite right. When i flashed this with the 3.5 rom it seems to have broken the vision connection. I get the error that the remote modem has disconnected. At first i dismissed it as the tower having problems, but when i flashed the stock sprint rom this evening (only for a moment, and wow that was slow) the vision worked.

Anyone else have a similar issue? The rom i'm running right now is:
ftp://up.ppcgeeks.com/Apache/ImCoKeM...int_nk.nbf.zip if any other sprint user can try this and see if their vision works or doesn't that could be helpful.

I get that all the time with the stock AKU 3.3 w/o my OEM package. A soft reset fixes it, and it's not clear what the problem is - some people blame the latest radio firmware, but my wife's 6700 (running stock Sprint Rom and 1.13 radio) gets it too.

It really does seem to be a sprint-side issue. Or a radio firmware issue... it comes and goes for me, in different locations, on different days/times... at any rate, its probably no worse/different with the OEM Sprint stuff.

Unfortunately the soft reset doesn't fix this, there might be a conflict in the 3.5 rom i'm using that i'll check more closely when i get a chance. I can't think of a good reason of the top of my head though. The part that gets me is as soon as i put a stock rom on it the thing works perfectly (well it accesses vision, i don't really think the stock rom is "perfect" by any means), but even after reflashing a rom without your oem package it didn't work. This is making me think i might have changed another OEM in the meantime to cause the problem. I'll keep ya posted.

Ok - it should just work, it mostly makes all the settings - there is no Sprint dlls/exes that are needed to do Vision/EVDO, just certs and settings

ImCoKeMaN 02-09-2007 05:27 PM

Sorry schettj i'm sure your package works. I think i'm trying to move too quickly and getting too large a degree of change between my roms that i get confused about what is causing the issue. I agree your settings worked properly, i just had another issue. I am rebuilding a rom now and it should be working. Guess i'll go take down that sprintnk.nbf til i put the new one up =)

Edit: Yup, my fault. For some reason i had removed the gwes OEM. That one is pretty critical for internet :) Wow every day i realize more and more that it wasn't because i am smart that AKU 3.5 is running for the APACHE (Helmi's the smart one that made the kitchen). Oh the working sprint_nk.nbf.zip is up on the ftp now too
