Choppy scrolling on replacement xv6700 - send it back?

Hi all - first, huge thanks to all such as Helmi who have made the xv6700 really sing. Had Helmi's lastet WM5 on my phone for a while until I decided to take advantage of the insurance and get a new one with a better working joystick, etc. Well, got the new one and it seemed choppy and sluggish to scroll right out of the box despite appearing brandy-new. Went ahead and put WM6 on (which is WONDERFUL) and it was still very choppy, almost unusable. Also, I have to tap rather hard to type on the on-screen keyboard often - not seeing any adjustment of screen sensitivity, do I just have a bad apple? Should I send it back?

I tried FTouchFlo and unfortunately it only compounds the issue. Oh well. Ideas?

Thanks in advance for the expertise.

You might want to check and see if your Pressure Threshold went way down...

HKLM/Software/Drivers/Touch/PressureThreshold

try to double or even triple the current settings

I have mine set to 15000

Thanks for the reply - this looks to be exactly what I'm looking for, and I'm sorry to plead ignorance, but how do I get there? I figured it's a registry edit - I looked all through my registry but couldn't find "HKLM". Please help! Thanks for your patience.

just make sure you do a softreset after changes to the registery.

Dangit, still super-choppy. Maybe it's a bad screen? I'm thinking it's worth the hassle of putting OEM OS back on it and getting a new one...thoughts?

this reg hack was not about the choppy issue...it was about you having to press alittle harder on the screen to react.
