Enable smartdialer: HKLM\Security\Phone\Skin
change enabled from 0 to 1 (Colonel)

Sorry! Thought that was still in there! Just edit the registry key above and you'll have smartdialer back.

Hard reset is necessary for the registry changes and file initialization scripts that are shipped as part of the rom upgrade to run.

If you do not hard-reset after a flash you do not have a matching registry/filesystem structure with the one intended by the person who built the rom for you.

As such you are bound to have any number of problems because the links/registry entries the builder intended to give you may/may not be in force.

In addition you still have application data on the device, which could further conflict with applications that expect newer/different formats and layouts.

It is vital, especially with the number of changes being offered as part of these upgrades that you hard reset AFTER you have flashed a new rom, at least once before reporting problems/asking for help. high percentages of problems are cleared up "magically" by getting users to perform a hard-reset of the device after a flash, simply because then the system is synchronized with the intended rom image.

i use this custom ROM with bttoggle and it keep cut it off in ten second, there anyway fixing that up??

dataman 02-13-2007 12:05 AM

3 things:

1. does this Rom has the Pics/Video fix built in or should we do it?

2. Is there any way to reduce the battery usage? it realy goes down fast I have the BT on but no wireless and no incomming beam nor direct push is setup!

3. I use to be able to use skype on my pgone using my Blue tooth headset Jabra JX10 I mean when I would dial a number on skype I would press the headset button and the audio gate would be open after my converstaion I would click the button on the headset again and it would close it... now however, it does not stay open.. any idea?

2 Attachment(s)
1. pic/vid fix is in
2. I do not experience a significant battery drain. There is a program to measure battery drain. abpowermeter or something like that. It is in the software forum. Try that, and maybe it can help you narrow the problem.
3. Use btaudio to open the audio gateway. Dial with skype, then launch this program. It will open the gateway and keep it open until you press your headset button to close it.

i installed the latest rom and i am stuck at the "Serial v2.02" screen. I keep trying to hard reset it, hit Y on the keyboard and it just goes back to the serial screen. Any ideas? Do i need to just go back to the sprint rom?

dannzeman 02-13-2007 02:12 AM

when you are at the "Serial v2.02" screen then you should plug in your usb cable and connect it to your computer. when you do that the "Serial" should change to "USB". Then run the installer

scott_o 02-13-2007 02:20 AM

i ran the installer. it won't boot back up. it just stays in the bootloader mode. i unlocked my sprint ext rom and changed it a bit. does that mess up loading kitchen roms? should i go do a vanilla sprint rom install then install yuma's rom?
