TRE doesn't have a decent search, but allows easy imports of .reg files, PHM easily searches but doesn't import as easily. Total Commander, though capable of doing registry, is more of a file explorer. The TRE and PHM files total less than 100 kb, so putting them in means nothing in terms of space. You could easily remove the icons from \Windows\Start Menu\Programs if you don't use them. As far as free space, I had 39.8 MB available even after installing stuff from the extended ROM. I've now installed Voice Command (5.0+MB), PaulyA's dialpad skin (2.0 MB), and Spb Backup (2.0 MB) and I still have 30 MB storage space available!

OMG, OMG Cerebral overload heaven!
Another beutiful 3.3 ROM!

I see you are using :
WM5torage 1.7
How do you feel about it and in comparison to UPX-ing files?

:)

Perasite 01-30-2007 10:11 PM

Not sure I understand the comparison. UPX compresses files, where WM5torage makes the SD card function like a standard flash drive when you connect your phone to your PC via USB. Could you be thinking of a different program?

I have removed Clearview and put PPT back in. Apparently Clearview was not freeware, so the MS PPT is back. For now I have not integrated a PDF solution. I just wanted to get Clearview out quick before causing any problems.

Nice avatar. Am I correct in assuming that that is your boot screen? Damn, now I need a logo or something. I have not artistic skills

Perasite 01-31-2007 09:47 AM

Yes, that's the boot screen. Easily changeable, but I wanted just to add something to differentiate it from a standard AKU3.3. I have no artistic skills either. In the splash screen thread was a link to a hofo site with tons of 240x320 backgrounds. I grabbed one I liked and added some text to it. Is that cheating?

You bet. It was fun to make it. I'd really like to eventually get all my standard apps and settings into ROM so I don't have to rebuild after a reset, and so I gain some of that storage space back. I'd love to at least get MS VC 1.6 and WA2 with my customized theme in there. I realize I couldn't release it if I did, but I'd like to have that nearly 10 MB back! For the one I released, I just tried to put in stuff that I thought everyone could use without causing conflicts with other programs they may prefer. That is why I didn't put in a task manager. I happen to like WA2, some like Magic Button, some like Small Menu, etc... I didn't want any conflicts for those that preferred other programs.

6700Yuma,

What you could probably do is create the module for VC with the registry entries and shortcuts and have us drop the file from our cabs. This would make it simpler for us to create the module.
