SDHC.dll in new ROM? Does that mean . . .
So i'm playing around with my device after having installed the new 3.3 ROM, and i happen across a file in the windows folder called "sdhc.dll". My question is, does this mean we'll be able to drop MiniSDHC cards into the 6700 and have them work? Cuz if so . . . well shit, i'm gonna need a box of kleenex!!!
Anyone have any thoughts on this? Just trying to avoid having to try out a card from newegg and do an RMA. |
I would definitely think that was worth a shot! Good find. I'm sure someone will chime in here sooner or later after testing it though.

SDHC.DLL according to Microsoft:
"SDIO standard host controller driver based on version 1.0 of the SDA Standard Host Register Specification" This is from the Sandisk site: "SD High Capacity (SDHCTM) card is the new SD memory card based on the SDA 2.00 specification, introduced by the SD Card Association." |
I would think that if this doesn't work all we need to do is find a wm5 device that does support the new standard and grab the driver from it. I suppose that is what we are waiting for though.

Well, for anybody who wants to try it out NewEgg's got it for $35
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820208089 Personally, i'll be waiting til the recently announced 4GB MicroSDHC is released, since it's pretty clear that the 6800 will be using MicroSD,and I can just get a micro to mini adapter. |
