beware of static electricity
 
well i took my jacket off yesterday and as everyone knows the winter brings static electricity cause of the dry air, anyhow, i must have grabbed my phone and jolted it because nothing showed up on my memory card. it showed the space was still taken up, but i could'nt find a single folder. i put my memory card in the reader and formatted it and put everything back on it and so far everything is fine. be sure and touch some sort of metal before you grab your phones or memory cards. most of you are computer savy so this is a waste of info for you, but to those that dont know, just becareful.

I am not so sure it was static that did it. My phone goes through this several times a year where the phone sees the card and the memory on it but I can't get to the files.

I just back up the files and reformat it when it becomes necessary.

this happened to my phone.. I dropped it on the floor (like i've done many times) and a few minutes later I launched camera to take a picture.. and I realized that my miniSD card showed up blank!

I was able to recover most of it using Sandisk Rescuepro.. but the strange thing is when I looked at the storage space on the card the 6700 still said it was half full...

I loaded some stuff that i lost on there and some folders started to reappear.. but not all

I learned my lesson then.. to backup my card often..

yeah it just seemed like a coincidence maybe. from now on I am going to back my stuff up, i lost alot of stuff and it was'nt cool.

Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. Everything randomly disappeared, but the space was still shown as being used. Unfortunately I had not backed up my mem card. Lesson earned.

I reformated the card and now I back up constantly.

Yikes, Ill have to remember to back my card up asap... Would be lame having to re-download it all. Thx for the tip!
