text message woes
I Have The Sprint Ppc6700 And Am Using The Rob Mayer Version Of Wm6. The Problem Is That When I Recieve A Text Instead Of Showing Who It Came From It Will Place The First Word Of The Message Where The Number Of Who Sent It Should Be. So Im Finding Myself Guessing Where It Came From! But It Only Does It On Certain Contacts Not All Of Them. Any Suggestions??? Any Help Will Be Greatly Appriciated. Thanks....](*,)

Re: text message woes
Why not just use the real WM6 kitchen? Who knows what is in the rom that you're using.

Re: text message woes
This is becoming an everyday question.
Copy/Paste from my last reply to another thread. The fix for the SMS issue that people use is: When the phone is going through a hardreset and when it says "customizing in 3 seconds" something to that effect do a soft reset, and it should loads up fine! Dont worry if you mess it up....just do another hardrest and do over. Remember to backup your contacts...you will lose them on a hardreset. This is almost going to have to be a "Sticky"...it seems that everytime someone upgrades to 6.0 w/ the selected SMS built in the ROM, more or less this is the first question/problem that is always brought up. |
Re: text message woes
I am glad to still use WM5.

Re: text message woes
I have an issue with text messages as well but don't have the latest rom from the kitchen but the one prior to the latest or last one.
I only get 1 or 2 or maybe 10 to 20 text messages a day, and I was on the phone with verizon and they had me do an over the air programming which helped only briefly, and then back to the same problem. Do I need to update my radio ? How do I tell which radio I have ? Thanks... |

Ive have done several radio upgrades and never seen any difference from one to the next other than the version number. How do you know what version you have? Reboot the phone and when it starts to load it will give you some numbers in red and the ones next to "r" will be what you are looking for. |
