Drivers for Internet connection sharing when connected to PC ?
 

When my 6700 is connected to a pc and I run the ICS software, a new device window pops up on the pc asking for drivers in order to talk to my phone....any ideas how this is supposed to work ?

"Windows mobile based internet sharing device" is what it saids it has found and needs drivers for it....

Strange, it's always worked out of the box for me. What operating system on your PC ?

Hmm ok I must say I have never tried it with W2K (you want to look specifically for W2K and ICS, probably, I think W2K somewhat predates WM-ICS). Have you installed ActiveSync 4.5 (I assume so, but never hurts to ask) ?

Yes, I have installed ActiveSync which usually works with no problems....
So, where would I look to find drivers ?

without trying it myself, I am thinking there is a drivers folder in c:\program files\microsoft activesync\drivers... also you must have 4.5 activesync...

Point it to there and see if it picks anything up. I am thinking the drivers may be xp only, but may as well give it a try..?

I know you need SP2 to install MS AS on xp, anything earlier and it doesn't install

Ok, I got it. It was in the ActiveSync directory....
