Re: wifi wont connect

Do you have the SSID set to broadcast or know exactly what it is?

What form of encryption are you using?

WPA[2] or WEP or Unsecured?

Do you know the encryption key?

Are you using WM5 or WM6?

Do you have your router set to a limited amount or DHCP IP addresses or MAC address filtration enabled?

Has WiFi ever worked before on your device?

Can you go somewhere else and use it?

Re: wifi wont connect

well it seems that you need to have your router set to mix mode and if your using and 11g enhanced router you would need to set it to 802.11 standerd
maby this should be a sticky incase anyone else has the same problem

Re: wifi wont connect

there is no need, it is the basic specs of your device. It doesnt do G and only B as you now know.

Re: wifi wont connect

I upgraded to WM6.1 from 5. I use the wifi at home and at work. Both worked flawlessly with 5. But that is not the case with 6.1.
I looked at the wireless lan settings and everything is there.

When I try to launch IE it tells me "Cannot connect with the current connection settings.....". I never experienced this behavior before. Is
there some "hidden" setting to get WM6.1 to connect to the internet using wifi? Or perhaps I left something out of the Kitchen when I was cooking?

Have you gone through and deleted your wifi setting and tried to reconnect with your encryption key?

I can confirm I have the same problem. Worked great on WM5 and WM6 but no go on WM6.1. Funny, because I did get it to connect once last night.... seems to be intermittent but for the life of me i cannot get it to connect now.

Re: wifi wont connect

Must be an issue with WPA as I can connect to an unsecured network. I dont have a WEP connection I can test.

Re: wifi wont connect

<sigh>

I really don't want to go back to WM5. After about 10 cookings, all
yesterday, I think I finally have it the way I like it.
Always the way it goes - ain't it?
