Uninstalling Factory Programs

I attempted to uninstall a factory program Software store. I couldn't find an actual remove program for it, so using Total Commander I browsed to the folder and deleted it. However, the icon still remains in the programs. I looked for the icon file and have had no luck at finding it. Is there a more appropiate way to deleting the preloaded prgrams on our phones? And how can I get rid of the particular icon and any others I choose to remove?

I think the icon is stored under program files. You could try to see if the icon is there or not.

theres away to really remove them, but it takes alittle work, and a hard reset. I havent done it myself, as I dont see those taken up that much space. but anyway to remove the icons, simply go to file explorer, and got into the windows directory, start menu, programs, and erase the icon from there. hope this helps.

Okay, I did find the icons thanks both of you. However, here's the funny part. It was already missing. I guess once I went into memaid and did the advanced cleaning it took it out. That just moved that program up a notch on the must have, Memaid that is.

hehe yea memmaid's great for finding orphaned files like that. ;)

There is one other way since you have total commander anyway...

Type in \extended_rom\ and that will take you to the cab files that load the factory fun on the phone. Rerun the sprint software one and it will then show in your remove programs section and let you remove it. Just some advice though, don't delete anything in there! I don't know that it will cause a problem if you ever need to reset, but that is not something you want to learn the hard way.
