Extended ROM

I originally posted this in the XDA site, but I have found that the same people are on this site a lot more than that one and I thought that I might get a response from you all here.
I'm new to posting on this site, but not new to the Apache. I have been messing with my PDA for quite a while now, but I have decided to get more involved after reading so many posts from this site. I don't consider myself a noob because I know that I can get myself into trouble if I am not careful, which is more than a noob would even say. I have been able to Hard reset my phone, reset it before the Verizon cabs install, and unlocked the Extended ROM and have been able to load the basics back into my phone so that I have phone and texting (both tested) from following the below the forum guidelines.

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...443#post122443

Sorry for the long intro, but I wanted to give you some insight into where I am at personally with the process. Here is what I am trying to ask about. Below is a list of the cab files that I stopped my phone from loading. I pulled the list off of the config.txt file in my Extend ROM.

SHOW:\Extended_ROM\Verizon_Logo2.bmp
EXEC:\Extended_ROM\TPDisable.exe
CAB: \Extended_ROM\VZWProvision_Signed.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Apache_VZW_MMS3.0.6.24_20060124.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\getMMSCtxMenuInfo.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Customize_105201.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Enable_RingTone.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Region.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\VZWProvision.PPC400_2577MTM.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Remove.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Link.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\PP_AreaCode_Apache_203700.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\PP_Downlaod_Apache_203200.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\PT_HideModeOfOperation_Apache_203200 .sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\PT_WiFiAndRadio_Apache_203200.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\PP_Version_Apache_207206.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\PP_Nolog_Apache_203200.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\PT_BT_Apache_205200.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\PP_AddRingTone_Apache_205200.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\PP_MSFP_Apache_205200.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\PT_PhoneSettingHelpFile_Apache_20520 0.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\PP_DataRetry_Apache_205200.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\PP_SMSACK_Apache_205200.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\ITS_560_TimeZone.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\HTC_WM5DST_signed.cab
EXEC:\Extended_ROM\TPEnable.exe
RST: Reset

And these are the ones that the site told me to load.

Enable_RingTone.sa.CAB
Link.sa.CAB
Region.sa.CAB
Signed_MMS3.0.6.22_Apache_VZW_26Sep05.CAB
VZWProvision.PPC400_2577MTM.CAB
VZWProvision_Signed.sa.CAB

The main reason for my question is two fold. First off, not all of the cabs on my phone were listed on the other forum, and secondly after reading so many forums I have found that this one seems to be frequented by everyone from the other forums as well.(At least the ones that seem to know what the hell they are talking about!) Could someone tell me what these cabs do that I have both installed and haven't installed from my Extended ROM? Also, since I am new at this, what are the programs that would be needed if I wanted to start flashing my ROM and in the future working on creating my own? Thanks in advance for any insight and PLEASE keep on posting both here and in other threads!

Re: Extended ROM

WOW!!.. I am a total dumbass. :angry7: I just realized that colonel did all the work on this already and that it is even in a sticky. Sorry all. I am usually very diligent about searching thoroughly before posting. Feel free to send my post a reply about my dumbass attack :protest: or even kill this post if you are a moderator.
Sorry again. I know how annoying it is to read questions in the wrong threads or people that ask questions that don't want to take the time to read through the search results. ](*,)
