Thanks midniteslice -

Ive downloaded the HTC Customizer.. It looks great.. I figured out how to change all the icons to make them more suitable to my needs.. Im getting into it pretty heavy.. Tomorrow when i get the phone activated Ill go ahead and fix the accuweather bug..

I used Tiermann's guide to change my dialer.. didnt work - so for now im gonna try and figure out why!?!?!

I used ThemeGenCE to change my Potrait and Landscape BG to Rep the Tenn Vols!

Thanks for all the great members suggestions and help so far...

Re: Hello, New PPC Owner - What should I do?

2 Hours of searching later....

Got one!!

Im now using the vista theme dialer and it works really well.. larger buttons would be nice, but im not gonna complain

Here are my upgrades in Day 1:
-2 New MP3 ringers
-ThemeGenCE Theme - made 1 good one, all the other attempts have failed since I installed...
-HTC Customizer
-Vista Dialer
-DBH Slide2unlock PRO
-Google Maps
-Microsoft Photo Contacts... Dont really like it that much, but its better than the base model.. Also does anyone know if I delete the Photo Contacts program (when I come across a better one) if I will lose all my contacts?

Upgrades Im trying to locate/understand
-AIM (cant log on)
-HTC Weather App (Bristol, TN is not an option... cant find the original post i read about changing it to custom - LINK???)
-Some type of backup system for programs/contacts/email settings (cant locate)
-Kitchens/Cooking (Dont understand)
-WM6 (Not sure when to apply it, or if to apply it)
-ACTIVATION - in about 4 hours!!!

Thanks for all the help so far ppcgeeks.. ive been dosing out the props!!

as far as loosing contacts, i don't know i wouldn't think becuase photodialers are usually indepentdent of your pim app. but i'm really not sure how that one works.

probably won't work until you activate the phone......

ppcpim backup, i dont' have a cab, search the forum for ppcpim backup and it should show. go advanced and search posts instead of threads.

a kitchen is pretty much just an app that allows you to pick and chooses which app (oem) to include in your rom, and the process of building that rom is cooking.

Re: Hello, New PPC Owner - What should I do?

well.............................................

I got my phone activated this morning.. I got everything working correctly except AIM and Weather... then I tried to log onto IE through alltel (not wifi) and i get an error message that the receiving modem has been disconnected.. When i try again i have to reenter my password... But what is weird is when i check the settings it shows a password as being there.. its 10-15 characters long.. the password Alltel IT gave me is "alltel" but when i change it and then try to close out and reopen settings to see if it worked.. its either blank or its that 10-15 character password again.. i cant see what it is b/c its ***************

IT told me that they dont show my phone as even trying to access the server.. whenever a phone tries and fails it creates a marker for them to view.. my phone doesnt even show up on the server at all...

They said that they will have to replace it...

Does anyone know the fix to solve this issue?

I deleted all the before mentioned programs to see if maybe one of those was somehow hacking my password... but no luck..

Also, Midniteslice... you were correct on the photo contacts app.. all my contacts were still saved.. The biggest flaw with this phone so far is the stupid dialer skin.. NE Way... thanks for all the help.. and if anyone knows the hack to solve the IE issue.. dontations are coming your way!!!
