SMS threading from 6.1 doesn't like MMS
 

on my WM6 upgrade on my HTC Apache, i downloaded and installed the sms threading app that comes with wm6.1 from a link i found on here.. but it doesn't like when i get pic messages. sometimes the original MMS app will pick it up sometimes the SMS threading app will pick it up. the original app will connect to VZW's data and download the pic, the SMS one will just say cannot download pic. so i have to have the person resend it and hope the other app picks it up to download. i either want to get the SMS to be the default and get it to dial out like it suppose to, or uninstall it if that can't be done, i get a ton of pic mail and can't have this keep happening.

i had the same problem. haven't seen a fix yet. there is a place in the settings to set where to download the pic from, but i don't know vzw's info.

I have had the same problem. I used to get mms in the messaging program instead of the sms threader, but now mms goes to the sms threader. How can I disable it?

DID you install thru the 6.1 kitchen?
if not try the new kitchen, as the threading sms works fine that way

Are you positive that the threaded APP you installe is the true WM6.1 Threaded SMS? Most of the ones floating around are still the Palm version, just renamed and repackaged.

and a few others all have the issues with MMS.

Yes, I'm using Cody's SMS Threader. The threader works fine except for MMS. Which threader should I use? I have S10onN2O's WM6.1 (from XDA-Developers - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=368748).

As far as I know, none of the threaders work with MMS (none of the Palm type; coddy's, twinky's).

They all rely on Arcsoft for the MMS.

I have apache WM6 Custom Kitchen ROM (my own) with Twinky's Threaded SMS and I am using Arcsoft for the MMS side. Works fine for me.

But the thing is I don't want the threader for MMS. I want my MMS to go to the e-mail program

I got the helmi 6.1 on my xv-6700 and though verizon reset my mms settings and reprogrammed my phone, some *228 ?? I think, as their way to troubleshoot. Even with all msgs deleted while sending an mms, an evelope with exclamation mark shows a "unable to send your message(s). Your message(s) will remain in drafts folder. While tring to recieve an mms, the same message & exclamation shows but even with an empty inbox and an indicator for x amount of unread messages which as mms reciept attempts on welcome screen. For example, I can delete my inbox of everything tell someone to send me an mms or 3, and that same amount of unread messages will show on today screen + still have an empty inbox.

How did you get around the problem?

Helmi 6.1 is very outdated now. I started getting problems with his, when using MMS. Try using LennySh build.
