I'm having a heck of a time finding where the files go when you run the 3.3 installer, myself :p

As in "I just unpacked the 3.3 rom and took out the nk.nbf file and tossed in the radio file." - how are you unpacking the 3.3 rom file? I am sure I am just being dense here

All I did was create a new folder and put the 3.3 rom in there. Then I used Winrar(used the right click on my mouse) to unpack it, tossed the nk file, inserted the radio file, put phone in bootloader, and then just double clicked on the MaUpdateUt_noID.exe to initiate the upgrade process.

So doing this updates the phone to PRL 20225 or 20224? I am confused by all the naming and changing, etc.

I already have PRL 20225, but simply want to do this in order to update my PRI to the newest grade.

Updated - is it just me or does the RADIO stack take longer to update then the OS? LOL

At end of update, I just did a soft-reset.

What is the latest extROM? - I guess I could flash that on and grab a backup of the latest apps too.

I had 225 as well, it will re-install 225 and move the PRI to 1.19_003 (mine was at 1.18_003 before...)

I can't seem to get the PRI updated. I installed the cab from the link you provided me, but when I go into the Windows dir and click on PPST.ext it doesn't do anything. I even tried to select it to run from Resco's menu. Still nothing.

Can you please help? TIA

Ok so PPST never ran- only the install of that file- and I just soft resetted. When it came back up I checked device info just for kicks and the PRI is indeed updated. How in the world did that happen?

In the following instructions #3 never happened for me. I just want to make sure I did it right and it is ok.

Instructions:

1. Download and Install to the Device (its 280kb, but technically you already have this installed).
2. After the install browse to \Windows and find PPST.exe
3. Run PPST.exe and wait (not sure how long... a minute?), phone will say "no service" ... Don't worry this is normal.
4. Softreset
5. Start -> Settings -> System -> Device Information
6. Confirm new PRL 20225

Probably stupid question, but radio/PRI carrier specific? (i.e. would this update work on the vx6700?).
