please say yes?!
i jus wana start off by sayin i love this website everybody is real cool and helpful!
but ny problem is i bought a ppc6700 from a guy off craigslist and told me the esn was clean and all that other stuff as usual but come to find out it wasnt and now i cant get in contact with the guy to release it! my question is.... is there anyway i can hack into it to clear it out myself? please help...please say yes! |
Re: please say yes?!
No, the esn is logged as bad in Sprint's internal database. If it is stolen or ins flagged it then you are sol. If past due balance. Wait a month and see if he pays his bill. Might just have ended up behind. I would get in contact with craigslist and see what they can do. Did you use paypal?

Re: please say yes?!
wow, hope things work out for you on that....

Re: please say yes?!
If it's flagged as stolen can Sprint contact the person it was stolen from? At least then they can get their phone back and you might be able to claim a reward or at least have helped someone.

I agree with Neodorian

Always always verify this "IN A SPRINT STORE & WITH THE SELLER" have them activate it for you w/ you present before forking over the money when buying phones from anyone on C-list. That way you can see if the: ESN is clean ROM is standard Buttons work Digitizer other bugs and nasty surprises I'm hoping you do come out on top but trusting a seller on Craigslist was the worst move you could've made. Esp since there is absolutely 0% protection here. |

Does not belong in the Pocket PC News forum. Moved.

WOW...That always a chance you take doing business on Craigslist... I really hope things work out for you.

Re: please say yes?!
Grab some old dumb phone you never want to use again, but with at least evdo capabilities, write down the esn, and then step on it. If worst comes to worst, ESN clone the 6700, and fly under the radar as the phone you took the esn from. Since you purchased the phone legally, you're not in the moral black, and I'm only suggesting this as a last resort.

Re: please say yes?!
^LOL not a bad idea actually.
Not like Sprint's going to be very helpful with that type of purchase anyway. |
Re: please say yes?!
Or if he bothers to answers post 2 about if he paid through PP (or Google version of PP) then he can file a claim thru PP and get his funds back. I personally will never send cash/check/MO for anything.
