What screen protector/guard do you use?

I personally just bought the shieldzone screen protector. its really good for scratches but the material its made of is really bad for use with a touch screen. it doesnt glide across the screen like without any protector. i kind of like it, but i dont like the gel feeling.

Sonin66 07-12-2006 05:24 PM

real easy to put on though

Wideawake 07-12-2006 05:31 PM

I started ut using palm ones from the local circuit city. but have decided not to use one at all. I like the way the stylus slides across screen and the way I feels. its hard to explain. figure it would take a lot to scratch the screen, as I haven't been using one for awhile now.

please...I dont use a screen protector. Too annoying. Just dont let little kids play with your phone.

Sonin66 07-12-2006 06:08 PM

yea i didnt use any on my first 6700 and never got a scratch. i thought maybe i should because i was tired of cleaning all the crud off the screen when i would use the phone to take a call. love the feel without one though, maybe ill go back to without one. heard the seido ones are good though

enroy 07-12-2006 07:17 PM

I don't use one either (screen protector), like they say, it just feels better w/o! In seriousness, I haven't used any. I do not like cleaning the crud either. Especially from my oily face. Between my oil and the dog hair, I have to shave the 6700 each day. It grows more facial hair than me.

ClearTouch Crystal

It still feels like a screen saver but the clarity is uncanny. I am in rough environments all the time, going without a cover is not an option, this is my choice.

I second the InvisiShield from Shieldzone.

Also, it will actually glide better after some use. Once normal oils and stuff start to build up on the vinyl, it becomes much much better. I've even used the transcriber easily with it.

Also, I've tried 4 different brands, and this is, hands down, 100% the easiest one to apply. A lifetime guarantee doesn't hurt either.

Malatesta 07-12-2006 08:33 PM

Big D5: Boxwave's Crystal's are my favorite too. They can be hard to put on since they fit so tightly but you can't even tell they're on there. Good stuff.

I'm waiting on my Tego skin to come in and my InivishbleSHield Full Body protector/skin showed up, so I'll put that on mabye tonight. I think InvibleShilelds though strong are pretty awful for screen protectors. Great body protectors though...

im going to keep this until it gets better. if it doesnt before the 30 day trial, its going back. hopefully it does glide better

wingzero 07-12-2006 11:03 PM

Boxwave is my favorite too. I'd used so many different brands before I found this boxwave screen protector. Personally, I think this is the best one out there. If you don't look too close, you wouldn't notice the screen protector is there.

rennyn 07-13-2006 12:50 AM

I've used the Boxwave and don't like them. If you ever need to reapply them they tend to start to peal up at the edges.

Try using it without a headset :) i.e. get some face grease on it hehe then polish it out with a cloth. Works wonders.

PPC6700Man 07-15-2006 12:35 AM

i spent 20 bucks on OE Palm screen protectors, and swapped the phone out so i was stuck with them.. so all i do is cut each to size and use those.. kinda sucks since i gota trim them all the time when i want one to fit.. but i'm not about to waste 20 bones so i gota deal with it :(

Wideawake 07-15-2006 12:39 AM

here's alittle tip with the palm ones on the 6700. trim out template number 6, a cut alittle extra off the sides. these were the ones I was using, but decided not to use them all together.

ducci1 08-23-2006 11:18 PM

Face grease!! u guys are hilarious! our ppc have gotten so personal to us its like were in a relationship with them. Personally I like to go unprotected  but i dont want any surprises so i think im gonna look into some ProPhylactiC protection so that me and my sexy 6700 can get dowwn & dirty....and stay safe, ......sounds raunchy dont it  so twisted hehehe

Big D5 08-23-2006 11:23 PM

HAHAH :laughing3:

wingzero 08-23-2006 11:41 PM

Protection is good, no suprise, both are safe. :D

PPC6700Man 08-29-2006 03:56 PM

I've been using my "old" Treo branded Screen protectors that I bought for the 700p, before I swapped it out for a 6700. I think you just cut #6 on the sizing guide on the back, and it's a perfect fit! And it works great too. No problems using the stylus or fingers at all on the screen either.

I figure for the $20 I spent on them, and only used 1 since I had the 700, I'm not going to let these go to waste and buy specific sized protectors until I use all 20+ of these! lol

Wideawake 08-29-2006 04:02 PM

yea that's the number u use. I still have like 18 left of the palm kind. I just quit using them tho, I like my stylus to glide.

I'm with all the 'au naturel' users. The last time I bought a screen protector was for my first PPC: Jornada 540 (which didn't even need it). In the past 6 years (and 7 devices) in my pocket, I haven't had a problem scratching the screen. I see it like buying that extra insurance on rental cars.
