Making themes

Is anyone familiar with this process? What do the file sizes need to be and where on the PPC do they need to be stored? I get bored and would love to make my own themes. Anyone done this yet or can point me in the right direction would be great.

There's a program you can download from Microsoft to do this, but unfortunately it messes up the background size in landscape mode.

There's a third party one I found but it didn't give enough options for color changes. I'm still trying to find a good theme maker that actually works with WM5/6700.

Rennyn,

I'll take a look at the MS one. But, I am sure like other MS products there are bound to be some glicthes. I was at a website that was nothing but themes for phones. I thought even they would have it, but not through my searching could I find anything. I am anxious to start making some though, that's for sure.

I havent made my own themes or tried. But I have given it thought before. So if ya run into a good program then let us know, and maybe write up a beginners tutorial for us. ;)

Super-Fi if I am not mistaken.
I am a Dane Cook fan myself.
I'll see what I can come up with...

Here is what I came up with.
The Background works in Portrait but not it Landscape. Just a bug of designing in 2003 for WM5. So to fix this problem just open the original artwork and set it as your background, then it will work in portrait and landscape.
Let me know what you think. I don't particularly like the today screen color, but it is hard to pick a color when black and white are already taken by the image. I can change it to what ever you want.

How about you upload whatever Dane Cook sounds you are using for your ringer/sms?

Lemme know about the Today screen text color....

the text colour is fine you're getting the same results as i am as far as landscape mode...it doesnt fit the whole screen!!!

thrilsekr 09-01-2006 07:46 PM

1) Load the theme.
2) Open the superfinger.jpg in the viewer.
3) Use the viewer to set superfinger.jpg as the background image.
4) Try the landscapeview.

This process worked for me.

The 2003 theme generator only loads for portrait screens. When you apply the "new" image using the viewer it sees the whole image which is wide enough for the landscape mode.

That is how I got mine to work.

Hopefully this makes sense...

freeware theme generator

I found a freeware program that supports WM5. but it will take someone who has more sense than me to figure out exactly how to work it. I am able to portrait to work, but landscape is kicking my tail. Anyway, if anyone is interested here is where I found it.

I hope it is ok to post links here. If not, if someone will let me know, I will remove it. Just trying to be helpful.
