Mode of Operation

Maybe this option has always been here, because I just can't how all of a sudden it appeared. But I just now noticed this setting.

also it puts me in Roam when I use as a phone, which is fine because I have roaming included and also seem to have a better signal, (one more bar)

Running my custom ROM? I put it there. ;) Its just a reg tweak. :D

you see what's weird. I'm not using custom rom and such. only hacks I have is ppc6700 hacks cab and a few reg tweaks for certain things but not anything for this lol I don't know why its there and I didn't put it there

I'm sure one of the hacks cabs have that included. It is only a single registry entry or flipping a bit to unhide that option. To get to the mode of operation screen without doing that hack:
Click the "Get Settings" in screen shown above.
Click "OK"
Then click the "Get Settings" again and it should open the "Mode of Operation" options.

hmmm even though I searched for the topic exactly like I post, nothing showed up for this. Atleast the first page. Now I check in Reg section of this forum and there is a post titled exactly like this dated on Dec 20 So I now remember that I did do this Reg edit but forgot about it shortly afterwards.

But I set it back to Hybrid because I could not get calls, just rang till VM.

wow, i never knew you could do it that way. LOL very good. now if I keep my device as EVDO only, will that hurt anything? what setting do you guys reccomend? Hybrid perhaps?

JackSchitt28 01-18-2007 01:57 AM

becareful if you switch it to EVDO only. I did this and earlier today I missed about 4 text messages and my signal strength was obsolete. I switched it back to Hybrid and got all the missed text messages and now my signal is way better.
