Rant: Aaaaargh! MiniSD keeps getting erased!

I know it's my fault for being forgetful, but it's still frustrating nonetheless. I am cooking my own ROM so I make changes and reflash quite frequently. I've accidentally erased my 2GB MiniSD card probably a hundred times now by not remembering to take it out of the phone BEFORE flashing a new ROM.

Why is it the Apache erases its MiniSD card when flashing a new ROM anyway? My Wizard, Titan, Tornado, Excalibur, and other HTC phones leave the memory card alone, as they should!

On another topic, it's a shame HTC never enabled the gpsOne chip on the Apache. There have been people that tried to enable it, but I think it's never happening. They recently enabled it on the Titan, and it required a completely new SPL and radio in addition to drivers in the OS... drivers so different than before that it won't even boot without the new SPL and radio.

That's funny. I've flashed My Apache twice now. SD card is untouched. Have you changed the SD/SDHC plugin?

Mines never erased the data on the sd card when flashing, and I've flashed plenty of times and never lost any data, and I thought the 6700 didn't have the gpsOne chip in it.

I have never had my card erased either. Very strange.

Wow, I feel special in a bad way if I'm the only one whose MiniSD gets erased every time I flash a new ROM!!!
Nah, it doesn't have anything to do with the ROM itself, I've tried Helmi_c's AKU 0.7.0 and AKU 0.4.2 as well as the stock Alltel ROM and every time I flash it, when the phone boots up it asks if I want to format the memory card. Could it have something to my SPL version or hardware revision? I've had the same memory card in my other devices and had no problems, but I might try a different card.

I believe the 6700 has an MSM6500 radio. If so, it definitely has GPS.

Like the Titan, the Apache firmware just doesn't take advantage of it.
