My 6700 "Not recognized" by my PC
 

So I jsut got my 6700 from a board member here and it didn't come with any driver CDs or anything. I'm having trouble getting my PCs to recognize it. I have Active Sync 4.5 (fresh off of M$ site).

Are there XP drivers I need for it? I've done some digging but most everything I'm finding is from 2005 and it sounds like there were some early ActiveSync troubles... is that still the case?

As I understand it the 6700's got Helmi's WM6 on it (though I don't know how to confirm) and ROM Ver = 3.50.00 WWE... what else do you need to know?

I don't know if this will really help but, Mine does that sometimes to and i got mine new no new ROM, so anyway um... try hooking it and if it still said it's not recongnized go to My Computer and for an icon that say mobile device. that should work for you

No, there aren't any extra drivers you need for XP. Check if Activesync is set for Allow USB connections.

Just keep unpluging and pluging it in. It happens to all of us...

try putting it to sleep (little button on top) plug it in and then turn it on, it always seems to work for me.

go to sTart >>Setting >>Connection Tab >> USB to PC >>UN Check the enable advanced network fungtionality

hope that it's the only problem for you..

i got the same problem too.
i installed the drivers from the CD. it worked well on my desktop but not on the laptop.
both systems run win XP.

I had the same problem. I called Alltel and they are sending me a new phone, but according to what I am hearing here it wont make a diff.

first off, you'll want to make sure you have activesync 4.5. google it and you can find it on the microsoft sites. it will install all the drivers you need. (you prob already have, just threw it in in case.) i have a problem with mine connecting once in a while. i've linked it directly to the usb ports on my comp. if i swap it to a different one it usually picks up. i also know ppl that have had problems connecting when using a usb hub, or an extension cable. don't know if all this will help, but good luck.

I tryed a different cord. IT WORKED. I seems that the 6700 does not like cheap or long usb cords.
