Anyone know a way to Voice Dial when the lock is on?

I noticed there was an old thread that really got nowhere, So I figured I would throw the problem out there...

Whenever I hit the Device Lock button on the today screen to prevent accidental key presses and such, I no longer can use my Plantronics V510 Headset to voice dial... Holding down the voice dial key does nothing but turn the backlight on for a few seconds letting me know that the phone at least Got the message to turn Voice Dial on, But its pretty obvious that the phone lock decided to Not allow the program to come up...

... Anyways, Wtf is the use of a hands free headset when I cant even make a call without taking my phone out of my pocket, Unlocking it, Starting the Voice Dial, Then locking it again to place it away in my pocket?

Hopefully someone has had a similar issue and perhaps found some kind of fix or patch to force the phone to allow Voice Dialer to run regardless of Lock State...

I don't think its the screen lock that's preventing your bluetooth headset from connecting. I have the same earpiece. The screen lock app does just that, locks the screen.

You mentioned the screen "turns on", which leads me to assume that it is off, as in asleep, like when you push the "power" button on the top of the device, am I correct? If so, the issue is the bluetooth radio is technically dormant and as such doesn't respond to your commands until it fully powers back on. Someone correct me if I'm wrong though..

Well, the fun part is that the phone is actually set to never go to standby or any form of Off without me pressing the power button, Although the backlight of the screen itself is auto off on 30 seconds...

Thats what I mean though, The backlight will come on, as If I pressed a hardware button, But the Voice Dial Program fails to come up...

I think Im going to just Hard Reset again and see if that solves the issue... Honestly I think it has to do with the BTToggle program locking my phone in some form of screwed up Audio Gateway + Voice Dial Mode or something...

I had the same problem with the same headset before, but now that i have AKU 2.2 (and sprint radio updates) it will go into the voice dial for me every time even when locked. This is only one of many reasons for the AKU2.2 update! The only drawback to this is that you can't use the locked screen method for playing MP3s on your headset now.

Well, the whole issue was, That even with AKU 2.2 and all the updates, BTToggle was causing the problems, Once I would install and use the audio gateway a few times, Thats when I would loose control over the Voice Speed Dial button and the Lock issue would pop up...

and Id much rather spend extra $ on a regular stereo headset instead of loosing the ability to voice dial...

I just noticed now that another change with the AKU 2.2 update is that when i use the voice dial from the bluetooth it no longer repeats the name via the headset, it comes from the phone itself. I'm not sure which it is using for the mic, but i'm thinking that might also be the phone. I still haven't installed any bluetooth audio utilities either.
