HTC Weather

Hello all, I can't get local weather for my HTC home screen setup. I've searched but to no avail.
Helmi's WM6, let me know any other info that I should post.
Thanks a million!

Jay....do you have a data connection or a WiFi connection??

kain144000 01-06-2008 05:32 PM

This always works for me. Browse (the registry) to HKLM/Comm/Tcpip/Hosts, then del "htc.accuweather.com", groove?

I use wifi at my house and in class, just use the data connection when I am away from wifi. I don't have the unlimited data plan, so this works out great for me.
Thanks kain, I'll give that a try.

I don't have anything except a (default) (value not set). Any other ideas?

HTC Today Plugin

Upgrade to version 2.1 of the HTC Today plugin. This will solve your local weather issues. When you have done that then apply the following reg entries:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\HTCHome\Weather\Se ttings]
"AutoDownload"=dword:00000001
"LocationCode"="10965"
"Location"="Pearl River, New York "
"Celsius"=dword:00000000
"ConnectionTimeout"=dword:0000003c

These assume you have a data connection. The connection timeout does auto updating of the weather. Alternatively you can use the HTC Home Customizer to do this too.

Should you have any other questions please PM me.

Steve

you can use htc home customizer to create custom locations....

or im assuming that you could just replace the city and zip code in previous post with the one that you want.
