Qwest specific everything

a qwest ppc 6700 (QWEST is not a cell
carrier anymore)
Hi,
Can you help me?
I know you are probably bored with
these phones and questions. I'm simlilar to the guy who got one at
goodwill, and you said "load some roms!"
I would like to be able to talk on it with a
voip app but none seem to work.
I have what came with it on it, and
Google maps and a chess game and ppc hacks, and opera.
What else can i do with this, because it
only works with WiFi because Qwest is
dead.
I cant find anything Qwest specific to
upgrade with, and I'm not understanding some of the lingo. I want to put the
most cool stuff on it I can.
Also it has no storage card and the mini
SD is obsolete, I guess I can get an
adapter. I wonder what's the max
external storage it will recognize. So it's running the most programs it can
right now.
I would like to get the most possible out
of it, just for fun!! I use it at the coffee
shops.
I wonder about watching video streams. The you tube apps don't work. Edit Report Moderation Go (0) All time

You can get Mini SD for next to nothing and put it in. I believe on the stock Rom you can only go to 2 GB. With a custom Rom you can go up to 16, maybe more. I can get you a working you tube cab here in a sec.

O.k. That link for Youtube cab goes to a link for an android os youtube at google. Sorry, mine is WM 5

Next, I would really like a rom for my qwest upgrade to WM6.5.
My bootloader is ver. 1.02

What could I do to get it to be a phone again? I know Verizon and Cricket and Sprint are available networks around here.

That's it so far!

thanks tinkerbell.

O.k. Instead of that link to the 2.44 youtube, here is one attached to a message in the apache forums here.

Re: Qwest specific everything

It doesn't work.
It says, "error. could not connect. problem with network connection."
I'm using only wifi of course, maybe that's why.
Thanks.

Humm... that cab is still working here. Is your data connection working when you get that error?

Re: Qwest specific everything

Yes my wifi is good.
It still wontwork.
Do you have a rom for a qwest bootloader 1.02?
Wm 5 to wm 6.5?
Maybe need a new wm before youtube works?

Re: Qwest specific everything

Unfortunately, I don't have the files for your carrier. I think you mentioned that you don't use your device for a phone, is that correct?

andwow 04-04-2013 06:42 PM

Re: Qwest specific everything

Not as a phone now. Qwest is no longer a carrier for cell. Could flash it for Sprint or Verizon and get the latest compatible WM for it?

Thanks much.

Re: Qwest specific everything

Yes, you could try that. I am not sure if you will get an error, but there is only one way to find out.

Do you have a ROM for a bootloader 1.02?
I know someone requested it from you a long time ago, and ones have been up here from others, but from what I gather-- your's are widely loved.

I can try SPRINT and VERIZON and report back my failures! Yay!

Also, what are some of the most important apps (besides what's in the ROM) that you can think of for the ppc6700?

I'll bet I get a lot more functionality with WM6.1 or 6.5.

Do you know of a VOIP app like skype that works with this?

When you had this hardware, what was your ultimate configuration?

I've gotten really good on this thing since I got it for 5 dollars a few months ago. I have a bricked htc G1, but alas.

Thank you so much.

P.S. Are you really a female? I'm glad you are into stuff like this if you are...

Awe, that is sweet of you to say.

If you can load one of my Rom's, there is a bunch of stuff you can check out. Honestly, I use the Office apps the most. Also, I have a SPB time that is useful.

I don't, but please let us know when you find one.

You are welcome. And yes, 100%. Wouldn't that be a little silly to have a name like Tinkerbell if I was not? lol

I have bootloader 1.02. I don't see a rom from you that is for bootloader 1.02.

p.s.
Hey, there are a lot of people on the net with female names! :-)
I just wanted to be sure I was smitten with the correct female tinkerbell avatar. :-)

Unfortunately, by Windows Mobile Kitchen is down. I don't have the ability of cooking you up a custom Rom at the moment. I don't have a Tinkerbell Rom for bootloader 1.02 on my server. =[
