ppc6700 @ MetroPCS

Anyone currently have one working on MetroPCS? Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
CC

clockcycle,

Did you ever get your PPC over to Metro? I believe I may have seen you on another forum somewhere trying to figure out MMS but I'm not sure. Let me know; I'm having a big issue getting 1X internet to work on mine but everything else works.

Hiya,

Yes, that is me

On that same forum I would suggest you read up the thread on "tethering on metropcs" it has the websessions information you need to configure to get your internet working, provided you have the internet feature enabled on your account.

It's been a while since, but I think these where the settings;

wap.metropcs.net as your gateway/proxy
#777 as the data session phone number
3128 as http & wap port
443 as shttp port
username is yourphonenumber@mymetropcs.com
password leave blank

But verify that info on that thread just to make sure.

have fun,

Thanks for the response. Trust me, I've read the forum. That amongst many other forums. But for some reason no matter what proxy settings I use on my PPC, I still get a #777 Cannot connect error whenever trying to connect to 1X web. And I do have the internet as a part of my plan. I've definately done the research, but there has to be something else going on in my particular case that's preventing these settings from working.

welp I made a mistake on the settings in the reply here, it's 10digit@mymetropcs.com, I missed the "my"..

What was your previous phone on metro? can you check its web settings or web sessions? see if it's different and use those settings..

Huh, where does it mention a mogul on this thread? Besides 1X data is molasses SLOW..

Re: ppc6700 @ MetroPCS

Clockcycle,

Hey man,

It's just not working. I keep getting the Dialed #777 error. Tried all possible combinations of proxy settings. Updated and downgraded PRL. Tried to change PST settings to use Metro username and login credentials. Disabled EVDO and forced 1X. I just cannot seem to get 1X going. I want to use 1X for MMS because I normally browse web with Wifi due to the speed (of course); but this thing is kicking my arse. Did yours just work off the bat by updating your PRL?

Thanks. ](*,)

Have you tried switching your PPC to simple ip address? ##778# and then you change the setting under M. IP (i think).

Re: ppc6700 @ MetroPCS

Please advise!

I have a PPC6700 (sprint). I have it unlocked, but I don't know where to find out what information to get it to talk to MetroPCS. I figure if I can enter the right SID etc. I can just dial 611, reach metroPCS and sign up for service then.

I would then let them assign me a phone number which I would program into the phone.

I assume this is how it works.

I've googled a lot and the useful results have been sparse. Please point me in the direction I need to be pointed to get this PPC6700 onto the MetroPCS network.

1x Internet might be an option later, but I just need to put the phone onto their network somehow.

Thanks in advance.

Sean

Ok guys I really Need your help,
Metro stated tjhat the sprint PPC6700 is not supported by their MetroFlash software. So here is where I stand.
I bought a regular samsung phone from them
I followed the cloning instructions.
rebooted the phone however it still said sprint!
I dialed *228 it say metro 1. to activat 2. update PRL
I choose 2. however it fails
I attempt to dial out it say "welcome to the american roaming network"
If I turn OFF the samsung and try to call my number it does NOT ring

Sprint PPC6700 WM6 rom
Where did I go wrong

Re: ppc6700 @ MetroPCS

Re: ppc6700 @ MetroPCS

Hey guys. Sorry to bump an old thread but I need help with a verizon ppc6700 web on metro. I have flashed 5 moguls and had no problems with the web except for the fact that sprint placed a file in the rom that kept bringing the settings for the web to the sprint settings. The 6700 that I did kept giving me a code 8 and that the network is not setup for web... Can anyone help me out at all with this please?? I have tried everything and cant get it to work

I got mine setup on metro pcs by cloning the esn off a $5 phone. Its not entirely legal but i got it working. The store wanted to be a PITA when trying to flash it. You'll need to call in and get some of the settings for the phone too to get the internet working.

Do you have a working PRL for MetroPCS. I have not been able to find one that actually works. Any help would be grateful.
