question about using 6700 as modem

when using 6700 as a modem, is laptop computer protected from virus since we are using sprint network to surf the web? I ask this because recently the harddrive on my laptop went bad, so I put in a 15Gid harddrive that I had laying around until I could go pick up a 120gid harddrive. the problem is though it doesn't have any kind of adaware or spyware protection on it now. and due to the limited space, I don't want to download any on it to save space on my harddrive. so I was wondering if sprint had its own virus protection software on its network like AOL and others cable/DSL service does. I successfully connected to the web using my 6700 as a modem, but I'm very concerned about virus and srfing the internet without any kind of virus protection. let me know what you guys think. thanks

I was once told by a CS rep at Sprint that any data passing through a sprint tower was pre-scanned for viruses. I tether all the time and I have never had a problem but I have protection on my laptop already. When tethering I have never had my antivirus software flag something so I have to believe that the CS rep was correct. But you never know, Hope that helps

Nall I don't think Sprint has abything like that. If your really worried about viruses, I hope your using FireFox instead of IE. :P an that should be enough to last you till u get ur bigger drive. ;) IE was the number 1 target chosen by hackers this year and last if I'm not mistaken.
