Bell Mobility PPC 6700 is Bricked!

Hey All,

When I try to run "APACUpgradeUt_noID.exe" with the 3.3 ROM files, the radio updates successfully, then during the Extended ROM update, it only gets to 1% and then I get: "ERROR 113: EXTENDED ROM UPDATE ERROR"

I have tried every reset combination known to mankind and I cannot get past this. I think my Apache is toast.

I even tried to run Helmi_c's latest WM6 ROM update and it got as far as 99%, then it failed with a "ERROR 112: CE ROM UPDATE ERROR"

Unless there are some experts that can help me recover from this, I can kiss $200.00 down the drain. I just bought this phone from ebay to replace my first PPC 6700 because my first one is really beat up and the case is cracked from being dropped but it has always upgraded and I never had any issues with WM6 the way I had with this "newer" one!

Actually, I can get the phone to boot up to WM6... I can update the CE ROM with the new kitchen even though it only gets to 99% and fails with "ERROR 112: CE ROM UPDATE ERROR" it seems to have taken all the updates. Only the very first boot screen does not work (it looks like a snowy TV screen). I can update the radio with no problem but it seems that the Extended ROM is destroyed... still get "ERROR 113: EXTENDED ROM UPDATE ERROR" no matter what I try.

ROM Version = 3.60.70 WWE
ROM date = 08/31/07
Radio version = 1.43.00
Protocol version = SNAX-40306
ExtROM version = 3.12.700 WWE
Hardware version = 0041
PRL version = 31012
PRI version = 1.06_007
Browser version = MSIE 6.0
ESN = xxxxxxxx (hidden for obvious reasons)

I am almost saddened by the lack of responses to this thread :(

Bootloader?

What version of the bootloader are you running? I suspect with Helmi's kitchen you picked the wrong RUU option. If you are running 2.02 of the bootloader then pick standard. If you are running 1.04/2.04/2.05 then pick 04+.

Should you have other questions do not hesitate to PM me.

It looks like you are using Helmi's WM6 ROM and/or the WM5 kitchen stickied at the top. You need to move to the WM6 kitchen in the update sub-forum. The WM5 kitchen is not designed to work with your bootloader.
