Phone wont ring if powered "off"

I'm using the latest Helmic kitchen (Helmi_WM6_Apache_Kitchen_071117_1) for a pretty basic wm6 install. If my phone is "on" meaning the screen is on, it will ring immediately. If press the power button to turn it off it will only ring once before going to voicemail. When I say ring once I mean the phone its-self, its like the phone cant come out of standby. It lights up but just sits there.

I searched the forums and saw a similar problem that was solved by using an updated kitchen, which dosent apply here. Any help?

Most likely it's because your ringtone is too large or it's on the storage card, or both.

MrHappy had the same problem. See his post and the next few posts after his.

Is this problem new to WM6? Because its the same ringtone I've always used.

The same symptom was around in WM5 too. Is it on your storage card?

Tiermann is exactly right. This is the most common cause of ring once and go to voicemail. I have had the same problem and so have many others in the forum. The fix everytime someone complained about this is to put the ringtone in my ringtone folder on the device, not the card. Do that and see if it goes away. There is a delay when the device has to access the storage card to get ringtone.

While it is a fairly large ringtone 684k and its on the storage card, this is exactly how I used it in WM5 via the ringtone from storage hack. I've already moved it to the ringtone folder, but just wanted to let you guys know it did work in WM5.
