What's the best value I can have this at without losing too much mem?

Also I changed it without remembering the previous value. What might that be.

32768 is default, and the best would probably be 655360.

Hayabusa or anyone else that has cranked this up, have you noticed any benefits or memory losses.

And to clarify, do you really mean 655360 or 65536?

Yeah I forgot to put glyphcache tweak back in post 3.3 upgrade, have not had it in all this week, and it was running OK.

Just tried setting it to 1310720 - can't really say if it's better or not... 32kb is the default, 64k probably isn't noticable (ram hit-wise)... and 1310720 (1.3MB) is probably overkill. Let's try 40000Hex (262144 dec, or 256K)

Yeah after reboot that's got a lot more memory free (about a Meg )

Maybe its faster - mostly for redraws of screens that have been drawn once.

I really don't see much difference between the 32768 and the 655360 values.

I just tried this using the cab to install it on a practically stock 6700, the only installs were a few apps and the increase connections reg edit. I didn't notice any increase in speed when switching between landscape and portrait. I tried it after a soft reset to see how it effected the Today screen and I couldn't notice any difference. I tried it with several apps open as well. While using NetFront 3.3 there were still blocks of pixels when i switched from landscape to portrait. Too bad this didn't work for me.

FWIW, in my custom rom, the trianglepowers.com PPC-6700 app has the ability to change this for you. It is on page 2 of the app. Just type in the new value and update. For those not running my rom you can get it at trianglepowers.com.
