does anyone know how to exract a exe file using a pocket pc istead of using activesync???

Which program are you trying to install? See if the program comes in a .cab file too, then just copy it over to your MiniSD card and install from your device. :)

extract/install the .exe for your ppc program by opening it through your windows desktop pc while your pocket pc is disconnected, then simply type "C:\Program Files\Microsoft ActiveSync\" into the explorer address bar and locate your newly installed program's folder. The .CAB for the program should be in that folder, ready for you to copy to your storage card for on-the-fly installation without having to be anchored to your PC.

If you can't get near a PC, use logmein and download it, then take that CAB you find above and email it to yourself. I bit of a PITA but it works!
