Telus internet connection issues after upgrading to WM6.x
 

Hi there. Sometime ago I upgraded my 6700 to version 6.1 and lost connectivity to telus internet. "Error 37 : Misc error setting up Mobile IP". I have contacted telus and they say I have the proper settings but for some reason my phone won't authenticate.

I upgraded to an IPhone 3GS and dropped trying to fix it. Recently my mother fried her Palm and so I offered my 6700. Unfortunately I cannot get the internet to connect due to the error above.

I've tried several 'clean' builds of 6.1 and 6.5 but something just isn't working. It keeps telling me "Your username/password is not correct." then giving me the code 37.

Does anyone have the Telus WM5.xxx ROM sitting around collecting dust on their HD? I'd like to downgrade to see if it works.

Well I think I know what's wrong... for those that care...
my phone carrier (telus) has special programming modes...

which don't seem to be included in my kitchen(s).

None of these 'secret' programming triggers work on my telus phone.

Try dialing *22803, select 1 for english and then select 1 to program the handset. Then call the number back again and select 1 for english and 2 for a prl update.

If this fails it sounds like you may have to do a Radio reset. ##RTN + talk

I have done the *22803 (1 and 2) options to no improvement.

I would like to know more about how to do a radio reset.. Can you help me?

ps. I did upgrade the radio from 1.x to 1.14 then to 1.43... the first upgrade was done at the same time as the 'OS' so I don't know what is to blame.

What OS did you flash? it sounds to me like you have a sprint PRI in there and its populating your NVM with the SPCS connection information.

I flashed. WM6.5 with telus as a carrier.

I built the OS in BuildOS. I forget the kitchen #... but it was the highest currently available.

k. I found an OLD legacy ROM. claims to be the original equipment install.

well that restored the programming codes... and WM5.x
now to figure out how to get telus legacy cabs into wm6.5 kitchen
