Gps
I've been searching around and found that people say the apache has a A-GPS vs. a regular GPS but ether way wouldn't like a app like Google maps or live maps be able to work because i owned an EnV before this phone and that had a verizon navi but that was A-GPS, Live maps looks for a intermediated driver for GPS and it finds the A-GPS but under COM 10 is there a driver i can install on my phone in order to fool the app or compile a app to use com 10 because you cant get to the gps option to use com 10 correct me if there are any flaws because im no expert or trying to be one just an idea thank you :-D also with the new Mogul up date with rev. A and GPS would we be able to see what that holds and be able to unlock it in the Apache?
P.s. A-GPS Stands for assisted gps |
The short and long answer is that you can't have GPS nor A-GPS in this device--at least not in any usable form. The hardware is capable but the firmware is not. A-GPS is currently used for E-911 and certain Sprint network functions only (both of which provide only a "snapshot" type of fix--not a constantly updating one). There is close to a 0% chance that it will ever be possible to use that functionality with 3rd party programs on this device. Sorry.
You should get a bluetooth GPS unit if you want to use GPS software on the Apache. |
thanks yea ive also been looking at a good deal on ebay at the same time i just wondering so is the gps in the fone only the snapshot type or its just the firmware that can handle the snapshot type
