12 second delay for phone screen

I am at wits end. When I turn my ppc on hit phone button I have a 12 second delay before it pops up. If I hit it twice in 12 sec.'s it starts dialing. I can push any other button like start and it works. I'm completely puzzled. Once phone screen pops up you can go back and forth at will, but hit the power button and I get a 12 sec. delay again. Can anybody help Thanks. Problem started with contact pocket pro trial I uninstalled reset same problem. I'm thinking it may have chaned a setting in the phone or registry.

I havent seen your problem, but sometimes I notice that my dialer is really slow. If I push a key, sometimes it will take a second or two before it takes. This obviously makes dialing really annoying, because I have to delay between each number to make sure that it went through. I erased the call log, and it is back to normal. I would suggest giving that a try.

I noticed it because it got so bad to dial that I did a hard-reset to figure out which program was the culprit. I installed each program one at a time, and the dialer never got slow. I assumed I was crazy, and then restored my PIM data using spbBackup. The dialer immediately slowed to a crawl. I removed my call history, and it was back to normal.

Just erased my call log same problem. I did a spb back up and its still there thats why it may be in the registry. Thanks for the suggestion thou.

Yes I ran mem maid reclaim ram , quick cleaner ,advanced cleaner and find duplicates with the same results. Thanks keep the suggestions coming.

Question, what are you running on your today screen? Programs that need to update will slow down your PPC response time. Any slow down before the contact pro install?

BOO B) 11-22-2006 11:16 PM

I have spbtime stand alone under that I have spb pocket plus with spb diary ,weather, and backup all intergrated in . I do not have the weather set up to auto update. That it. EDIT: I have jonathon king onlock v0.2 program disabled. When I enable it I unlock on start up hit the phone key and it switches right to phone pad.

Big D5 11-22-2006 11:25 PM

SPB is your problem I think I had an older version on my 6700 and it caused seemlier problems. Back up remove it and try if that's not it you can always restore. If I had to bet I would say SPB, hope that helps

BOO B) 11-22-2006 11:28 PM

SPB pocket plus? Thanks for the help.

Big D5 11-22-2006 11:36 PM

Yes SPB pocket plus very expensive, like the options but not good for the 6700 IMHO just slows things down. If you can put up with the slow downs it is a really cool program

BOO B) 11-22-2006 11:40 PM

Removed spb pocket plus still have the same problem.

Big D5 11-22-2006 11:54 PM

what other programs do you have installed? If you have things backed up you could try a hard reset and see if that fixes things.

BOO B) 11-23-2006 12:00 AM

I removed spb time and if I hit power wait 1 second hit phone button it works. If I hit it right away same thing wait 12 sec.'s. Could photo contact pro have set some delays in my clocks?

Wideawake 11-23-2006 12:27 AM

i doubt it...

BOO B) 11-23-2006 12:38 AM

I did spb backup again even with spb time on the today screen if you wait 1 sec. and hit phone button it's fine. Do it any sooner then that 1 sec. wait and you wait 12 sec.'s. It has something to do with that unlock program if I put it on I get the same delay if I try and unlock it to soon. Justguessing at this point!

jamaa124 11-23-2006 07:29 AM

memmaid should help take care of the problem...definitely check to see what's on your today screen because some programs do slow it down.

Big D5 11-23-2006 10:39 AM

Have you got this fixed yet? Have you tried the hard reset?

BOO B) 11-23-2006 10:49 AM

No I haven't fixed it but getting better. No I haven't done a hard reset trying to work thru it first. There was a setting in photo contact pro that said start on reset and ignore request for shut down I think it may be there and even though I removed it the system is looking for it. Also I am not getting a clean soft reset. After I reset the prior programs I was on are still listed in the start menu. Any idea. Thanks for the support.

BOO B) 11-23-2006 12:28 PM

Did I loose my support staff on this? You stumped also? How about that soft reset issue maybe things aren't being installed or uninstalled properly? Any idea's? Thanks

BOO B) 11-23-2006 02:28 PM

It's so cold and lonely out here in never never land!

Wideawake 11-23-2006 02:37 PM

sorry but I lock all my buttons but the power button when my phone is shut off.....no need for accidently calls. :P

BOO B) 11-23-2006 02:40 PM

I use to do that but with seidio holster I don't worry. Plus I set bt audio hack to a side button so when a Call comes in I can hear msvc caller ID thru my headset.

BOO B) 11-23-2006 02:50 PM

I turned on my lock same thing 12sec. delay. If I wait about 8 sec.'s before pushing anything all is fine. I don''t know what is opening first to make the delay. If I hard reset before finding the problem I will more then likely end up right back here , thats why I'm fighting it.

Wideawake 11-23-2006 02:59 PM

lol if u have been doing alot of uninstalling and installing I always suggest a hard reset after those situations.
~mike

Big D5 11-23-2006 03:11 PM

are you getting contact pro completely removed? sometimes it is necessary with some programs to do a soft reset before removing. Try reloading photo contact pro than soft rests and before opening any outer programs go to remove programs and remove PCP see if that gets it.

BOO B) 11-23-2006 03:24 PM

Thanks for the sugestion I'll try and re install. I have done so many hacks to get the 6700 where I want it I don't want to start from scratch. Unless I can run a previous spb back up after hard reset to get everything back. I haven't done one since the rom upgrade in March. Thanks. (I'm getting warmer)

BOO B) 11-23-2006 03:57 PM

The reinstall and uninstall Didn't work thanks thou. Question: Is the hard reset in tweaks2k an actual hard reset?

Big D5 11-23-2006 04:06 PM

Well you got me stumped on this one mabe some one will have another idea. The 2k2 thing I haven't had this program since my trial version ran out, so I don't remember, but there are many that use this program a lot so someone will have an answer. Hang in there, sorry we didn't get this worked out.

BOO B) 11-23-2006 04:12 PM

Thanks for helping Bid D5. I went to try it and it poppes a screen up That it doesn't work on 5.0. Back to the drawing board.

BOO B) 11-23-2006 04:25 PM

Another thing I noticed when you are on the phone screen it doesn't automatically switch back to the today screen after a few seconds like it use to.EDIT: As long as you put it on the phone screen before you hit the power button, when you turn it on everything works fine. When it's on the today screen it must be searching for the phone before it will allow you to do anything.
