Need Help With Flash Upgrade to WM6

I've searched forums and I can't find a resolution to this and I've posted in other forums before with no reply. Sorry, but if it was posted elsewhere and I missed it, please let me know.
I am trying to upgrade my XV6700 to WM6. I have tried to use the kitchen from Helmi_C and the prepackaged RUU from RobMayer. With either app I get the same result. I have tried it on 2 different XP machines and a Vista machine. I have upgraded the ruu drivers on the Vista machine to match those recommended in a previous post (http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=7049). My unit is running bootloader v1.04. When I run either the Helmi kitchen or the RobMayer programs on my Vista machine I get an error message saying that the "RUU has unexpectedly stopped responding and needs to close". When running the same programs on my XP machines, I get the following error message:

Error signature

AppName: apacupgradeut_noid.exe AppVer: 1.0.0.0 ModName: ruu.dll
ModVer: 2.12.0.0 Offset: 000077d4

If anyone knows how to correct this please let me know. I have put a lot of hours and gotten my phone stuck in bootloader mode more times that I can count (yes, I put it in bootloader mode before attempting these upgrades) and had to use every trick on here to get it out. I'm fed up and I need some help. Sorry if it is a quick fix and seems obvious to someone else, but I'm new at this. Thanks in advance for any help I can get.

i know it may sound stupid but look at it this way it seems like its not the ur on because everyone is yeilding the same result maybe try a diffrent cable or try reverting back to the factory shiped rom from verizon and see if that one can finish the update....i dunno jsut throwing ideas out there... good luck
