PPC-6700 Alltel to sprint

anyone know what needs to be done to change my alltel ppc-6700 to a sprint ppc-6700? i called alltel and sprint and was told this can be done. i tried to change the ROM from alltel to sprint but i get the "102 error" country error, any help anyone has would be great as i want to give this extra ppc-6700 to my sisters kid but they use sprint. Thank You

If sprint is ok with activating the ESN, then just flash to an official sprint rom and bring it to a store--or better yet, activate the esn over the phone with them running any rom you want.

I am looking to do the reverse. Put my Sprint 6700 onto the Alltel network. I have read up on all the QPST ESN etc stuff, are there any other changes I need to make to get the phone working on the Alltel network in addition to changing the ESN. I was unable to find this information on here using search. Thanks in advance.

thanks for the info, i was not running the bootloader when i installed the rom, weird because i ran the same rom on my other 3 ppc-6700's without running the bootloader mode. maybe because the 3 other units where running WM5 and this one was running WM6 already

I've never heard of a Sprint CSR ever saying that they would activate a non-sprint phone. The only way that I've heard of this happening is an illegal ESN swap and some hacking.

Anyone have any useful information on this topic? We all know the legalitie issues with this type of thing as it has been discussed at length many times already. What We are both looking for in specific information. I am thinking if me and the original poster swap info from our phones maybe we could get all the info we need. I am assuming we need msid mdn and perhaps something else... Please someone, just tell us what items need to be changed on the phone to make this happen. Thanks :-)

It's fairly easy to swap esn's, those details are available on other threads.
The biggest sticking point is data access, I don't think that one has been fixed yet.

Instead of just swapping information, why don't you two just swap phones? Hell of a lot easier.

Correct, the ESN swap isn't hard. What I am wondering is what else needs to be changed to make it work on the other network. I am not overly concerned with data on that line, mainly just voice and texting is all I need on that one. It's just my work line and the phone they gave me is a very basic Motorola W315 and I would rather use the 6700 I have laying around.
