If you just want the "Message Sent" notification to read something different, adjust the following:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Svc\SMS\MessageSent = "Message Sent" (REG_SZ string, no quotes)

I cant get this to work. What am i doing wrong?

I know you and I talked about this but everyone doesnt know what you have really done to try to correct this and get this customization to work for you so give some info on what you have done and what you are getting.

I personally have "SMS Sent" notification disabled as it aggravates the **** out of me with as many txt as I do a day.

It doesnt bother me at all. Instead of saying "Messege Sent" i want it to read what i want it read. I like cause i at least know it was sent out.

Oh yeah I go to the Reg Key "MessageSent" and the Value is MessageSent. I deleated the value and put something else in and it just stays the same. With no effect on it at all.

Yes that I know of. One I use is a Reg editor and file explorer is Called "Total Commander" type it in to google and it should be the first result. Its like ghisler.com or something like that.

Re: The most COMPLETE compilation of hacks and teaks

I know you mention about making audio louder. I have tried that route and my ringer volume is still low. When played with media player, they sound loud. When played under the ringtone review or when someone calls me, the audio is not loud. Is there any other way to make the ringer volume louder thru the registry?

weedahoe 04-17-2008 06:58 AM

Re: The most COMPLETE compilation of hacks and teaks

THere are a few things you can try.

1) re-encode your tone with a higher bitrate
2) use an application called WavePad to amplify the audio
3) there is an app for the PPC called PhotoContactsPro ( latest version I know of is v5.08 ) and in the ringing settings there is an option called "OUTDOOR" and it makes it super loud.

Yes:

HKLM\WebSite\PPCGeeks\6700\"The Most COMPLETE compilation of hacks and teaks"
IsThisACompletePostOnChangingTheRegistry = "Yes"

Seriously, Yes all things in the registry can be changed. This whole thread discusses those changes and what they do. DO NOT change a setting to see what it does! This can render your phone unusable, or a BRICK. weedahoe has compiled a nice list and can be found in the first few posts of this thread.

voice command to read slowly because she was saying things way too fast and i didn't understand what she was complaining about...

to do so,

hkcu >> software >> microass (microsoft) >> speech >> voices >> DefaultTTSRate = 2

Default is 4. The more you move up in number, the faster michelle talks.

Can anyone tell a difference with this? Does it make WM6.1 faster or slower? I can't tell a difference but I haven't had a chance to really load down my system yet.

Re: The most COMPLETE compilation of hacks and teaks

One other thing with Wavepad. If you are using the trial program and your trial runs out. An old trick is to change the year on your system clock back to before you dled the program.
This doesn't work everytime, but I know when I set mine back to 2001 it works without a problem. :)

I usually shorten the MP3 I want down to about 20-30 seconds, then go to effects and run the DC offset Correction, High Pass filter set with the general audio cleanup, then finally the remove hum & hiss set with the normal remove hum & hiss. Finally I'll save it as a VBR MP3 between 32 & 64 with a 7 on the quality & channels set to stereo. That usually works. Some recordings you can only do so much with if the original is poor then the final will be poor. If you are recording the clip, do it at the highest quality setting first then go back and format it and save at the lower quality setting.

i have a phonealarm skin that shows the time but has a leading zero ... does anyone know how to remove the leading zero?

Re: The most COMPLETE compilation of hacks and teaks

You mean as in military time? Just change it to regular time (12H) if thats what it is.

itouch24 07-21-2008 09:51 AM

Re: The most COMPLETE compilation of hacks and teaks

it seems the leading zero is built into the skin i am using .. had to disable using skin settings

to change regional settings for leading zero i went to
settings/system/regional settings, time tab
h:mm:ss instead of hh:mm:ss

You can go to :

HKLM\nls\OverRides
"STFmt"="H:mm:ss "

To set it what you want. This is my setting for military time to Today Clock. You may have it set to "HH:mm:ss ", the two "hh"s will add the leading zero. I beleive you need to create this key to override the system setting of "hh:mm:ss "...

edit: almost forgot, a lower case "h" is 12hr format, an uppercase "H" is 24hour format...

ok so i haven't seen this and know its possible, i just don't have the confidence to try it.
basically to make a reg edit to enable a button or menu item to turn on the flash light.
this might come in handy and would be easier then going into the camera and turning on the flash light

There are a few programs that do this.
The one I'm familiar with is called VJCandela

Some programs can do that, only one I know for sure is WisBar http://www.lakeridgesoftware.com
Buts its not free, try the trail one out.

There are also ways to do it without using WisbarAdvance3.

Hi,
I did the below edit, but the notifications won't stop even after I've read or dismissed the message.

How can I stop the notification?
Quote:

Repeat Notifications--Turn them on

This will enable the "Repeat" option within Sounds and Notifications for Phone: Missed Call.

\HKCU\ControlPanel\Notifications\{A877D660-239C-47a7-9304-0D347F580408}

Re: The most COMPLETE compilation of hacks and teaks

Ok, so let me absorb and regurgitate it for complete understanding. You turned the repeat on and when you get a msg you may not know it so it does repeat and then you realize it so you check it and dismiss it and then it keeps repeating? Is that right?

That is the problem with that hack, you can't turn of the notifications so it's garbage... I saw this program last week that might work http://freewareppc.com/utilities/notifyme.shtml I havn't tried it because I don't have a use for it but it might help you.
