.cab files, what does each one do

does anyone know what each of the .cabs that run after a hard reset do?

i resently reset and didn't let any of them run, and i only want to re-install the ones that are necessary.

in the 'get rid of junk' hack's there are two different lists of which cabs to reinstall. i'm wondering why the difference in lists, and what is being left out that shouldn't or what is being installed that doesn't need to be.

i haven't reinstalled any of the cabs, and was going to update my PRL but wasn't able to b/c the phone didn't respond to the ##775#...

i'm going to install a few of the obvious ones, the PCS...etc...but i still would like to know what they do. any way to view the contents of the cabs?

thanks

i installed the Customize_SPCS.sa.CAB file and was then able to use the ##775#....so that one is pretty essential

yea alot of those are needed for the phoen to function correctly. this is a list of the ones needed to be reinstalled. I find that the "junk removal" doesnt really free up that much, and IMO isnt worth it.

1. ButtonLock.sa.CAB
2. Cert_SPCS.sa.CAB
3. Cert_SPCS.CAB
4. Customize_SPCS.sa.CAB
5. Enable_rintTone.sa.CAB
6. IOTA.sa.CAB
7. Version.sa.CAB

Hope this helps,
~mike :)
