A Few Flaws in WM6
Hi,
I flashed Helmi's WM6 rom over the weekend, it works great but I noticed a few issues to do with functionality, and how I use my phone. I'd like to try to fix them. I'd like to know if anyone could help me with any of these issues: 1. The vibration pattern is a little weak, especially after being used to WM5's incredibly loud vibrate. Is there anyway to either, A. make it louder or B. Change it to what it is in WM5. 2. In WM6, when a device is locked, the volume control slider is still active and can change the volume. I would like this fixed so that the slider does not put my phone out of vibrate mode whilst it is in my pocket. 3. In Messaging a "Delete" softkey has replaced WM5's "New" softkey (left softkey) I would like to know if it is possible to change the softkeys within programs, as I have gotten into the habit of using the "New" key on windows mobile 5 and have been pressing delete a lot. 4. In Windows mobile 5, whilst typing a new (SMS) message i could type the first few letters of a contact (in the 'To:' section), and a dropdown box would appear listing contacts starting with those letters. I would like to know where this has gone in windows mobile 6, and if it is possible to get it back. Thanks, |
all of that is fixed in the kitchen stickied to the stop of the forum.

Thanks for all your work Verizonguy.
I just flashed the new version, and as far as i can see only the fourth thing on my list has been fixed. |
I likewise am having issues with the delete key in lieu of the new message key. Additionally, I can't get the ringer to stay on "Telephone Ring 2" no matter which way I reset or don't reset my phone. Additionally, for some reason, the phone defaults to viewing the "Extended Rom" folder as the external storage card -- some programs I can change this, but some I can't and the "Extended Rom" folder only has 5 MB free. And, yes, I did use the 0.6c version of the kitchen.
Aside from those issues (okay, and some stability quirks) WM6 does seem to be faster than WM5, and I really appreciate everybody's working to make the phone better. |
