Newbie needs glossary
I’m new to this ‘sport’ and need a little help understanding some of the terms. For the past month, I have reflashed my XV6700 with about 4 different rom images and played with the registry. It been interesting to say the least. But I can’t seem to find the definitions for these terms and how they relate to the 2 bands, ie. 800 and 1900.
What does 1xRTT, CDMA, EV-DO, and GSM, represent? Thanks |
Google helps alot bro. Im not trying to sarcastic but serious.

Not trying to be sarcastic? why even answer the post? Oh I know. another noob basher...go figure

but since you had neither answer for the OP nor positive comment for my post, lemme go do the work for both of you since I have all the time in the world at work which I now freely allocate to you. Pretty much everything you need and (likely will have to read many many times to understand) want to read is located in the link below. Next time Goddbody, please keep it to yourself. At least I gave reference to an external website for furthur education and knowledge. All you did was try to start chaos. BTW, the next time you want to quote me, use the quote button or learn your programming language. Do not blend what I say into your post because it makes it all look like something you say. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CDMA2000 http://www.phonescoop.com/glossary/term.php?gid=150 |
Sorry about the dumb question, I spent so much time in this forum, I forgot there are other resources. It took me about 3 minutes to answer my own questions after the stupid stamp. ](*,) Feel free to kill this thread and I deserved those replies!

Nah you aren't stupid :) But I'm glad you found the answers, the best way honestly is just to do some reseach, Wikipedia, Google are both great help.

Agree, if you have a Q then by all means ask it. Not everyone knows everything. Especially if you are just starting to learn something, everyone has a billion Qs. Its normal.
