this is what i mean, if the model No. is blank windows livesearch and messenger do not work, it crashes signing in, as both me and mbial have the same problem, and our model number field in device info is blank instead of the proper model number, and it was the verisonguy kitchen that caused this,

I don't think VG's kitchen is the cause here guys. I am using his .7 kitchen and my model number field is not blank. it reads PA10A1 but I am having the windows live issue as well.

Avaya, have you tried reflashing a different ROM to see if you can get Windows Live working again? If you have, did the Model No. field stay PA10A1?

Best,
MJB

Also, is anyone with a blank model no. able to activesync over the cellular? Also a no-go for me.

Doesn't the Model number get loaded into the OS when you are doing the encode? Maybe the prj file for your carrier is corrupt? Just a thought.

Javamahn,
Good idea, but I checked and even tried a different PRJ that I know works -- not the problem.

Has anybody had any luck with the model ID issue?
