sms problem
 

I recently udated my ppc6700 to the new htc rom update. I am now having problems with my text mgs. it doesn't show me who the text is coming from. instead of giving me the senders phone number it shows the first word intended in the txt as the sender. Can someone tell me how I can fix this problem. Thanks

you made the all too common mistake of allowing the carrier customizations to run. to fix, perform a hard reset, after you get through the initial screens, wait until you see a message saying "carrier customizations will install in 3 seconds, 2, 1." DO NOT allow the countdown to complete. the second you see that message, do a soft reset. to permenantly remove carrier customizations, unlock and delete all your files in the EXT_ROM2 folder. that will resolve your problem.

my friends are telling me my txts are coming in strange characters such as ??? etc. how can I fix this problem

Also, the more details the better... are you using the standard SMS app?
