Hack: Change left soft key to launch Threaded SMS App.
 

As promised....sorry it took so long. But heres a .cab which changes the registry to launch the Palm threaded SMS app. You can install this or do the following registry hack with any reg. editor:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\11 2

Change Open from calendar.exe to messagingapp.exe and Default from Calendar to whatever you wanna name it.

hey wideawake, anyway to get the left soft key to give you the option of sms or messaging like the palm one does?

I will have a look but I think we r outta luck on that without actually writing an app like wm5 newmenu.

Here is, at minimum, a temporary solution to the multiple choices for the left button.

Just get the SMS re-assignment, no second menu function with messaging.

hey wideawake, what do u think about this... and does anyone have a screen shot?

personally I would go with wm5 newmenu if ur lookin for a way to add more functionality to ur left soft key.

Maybe I should have mentioned...

For my ppc it groups palms sms, palms mms (though not working) and the original mms hack into one pop up.

Does not give left key access to email.

After checking it out.. I would also recommend the wm5 new menu. : ) Thanks!
