Can't get past bootloader screen.

Hey guys....
I have a friend that's on Bell Mobility in Canada. He's downloaded the WM6 ROM and is attempting to install it - but each time we try to run the install it fails with "connection error 101".
We've downloaded it a coupla times to make sure nothin was corrupted in the download, 100% sure he's getting into bootloader mode properly, etc etc etc.
The only odd thing I found was that when he's in bootloader mode is says ver 2.04.
We've installed serveral WM5 ROMs on this phone and they've seemed to function ok - but for whatever reason this one gives the 101 connection error.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

The bootloader version on the phone is actually the problem. Unfortunately, he flashed the new bell mobility ROM which upgrades the bootloader except if u extract the files and remove the bootloader upgrade files. You can either revert back to the 2.02 bootloader or wait for the kitchen and build a wm6 ROM for the 2.04 bootloader. (the first option will save you future hassles). here is more information on that.

That's good news. I went the other thread about it that you pointed out - didn't see any instructions - I guess they went to the chatroom to help the other guy out.
I've logged into the chatroom - hopefully someone will join that knows how to fix the issue or someone will post some instructions.

I had that on my Telus unit and could not figure out what was going on. Turns out if cabled USB to the front of my computer was bad, but if in the cradle attached to a USB hub from a port on the back was fine.

If he needs voice dial though check before installing as it might not be in the v6 ROM. Also Telus tells me I can not go back to v5 without a full old image first, but they think I might be OK as I have the v5 upgrade file on my PC.

My boot loader was v1.00
