Bricked Also

This Sprint WM6 "Helmi" ROM flash seemed to result in a 101 error after confirmation dialogue (you're going from this version to this version). Now it's not detectable via USB (ActiveSync), etc. It seems to be stuck in "bootloader" mode (Gray screen that states Serial/USB and Ver 2.02 at the bottom). I tried to run uni_exitbootloader.exe as it was recommended by helmi (diff. post) to bring a device out of bootloader mode - no success - error msg about "cannot open USB port..." even though I killed the activesync process. As ActiveSync doesn't seem to be detecting the device (when restarted) it's not possible to reflash or return to OEM ROM. I'm a n00b admittedly but none of the wiki pages or other forums seemed to address a scenario like this. Help, please?

Thanks,

I have this exact same problem. Was this ever resolved. I need help. My phone s dead.

I got lost in limbo with this boot loader. Can anyone help me to get back to ground zero? I can't do a soft or hard reset. Did anyone who had this problem ever get it resolved? Any help would be appreciated..

Thanks,
John

Many Thanks!!!

I want to give a big THANK YOU to the amazing team that put together this software! I flashed my PPC6700 this morning and after a few hours of configuration I'm happier than ever before with this device. I can't believe how fast it responds to commands now. It's like a new phone, but with the same old scratches (LOL)...

Anyway, thanks again.

Pocket Informant functionality

Thanks, Strongeek and Trident:

The combination of using Activesync (I had been trying to restore the PIM database from a WM5 backup) and reloading the newest version of Pocket Informant has solved the problem. Don't know for sure which one actually did the trick...I suspect it was the Activesync issue...but as long as I'm back in business with PI, I'm happy. Thanks again!

I at first couldn't connect to my home network running WPA/TKIP. But after reading the below I tried to activate Bluetooth, and magically my network connected... However anyone know how to get WPA2 on the Sprint PPC-6700? I can't connect to my works network without WPA2/AES.

Thanks!

Try downloading the other verizon version (non 1.02 bootloader). It worked great for me.

Yes, search the forums for apachesplash.exe. If it doesn't come up, send me a private message and I'll arrange sending you the zip file. It contains instructions, the exe to change the pic, and a converter to conver BMP to the right picture format.

Thanks Gervy!! Once you told me what it was called, it was very easy to find. I'm posting the link below for the ease of others in finding it.

Thanks to Isamu49 for the original posting. :)

I'm running SPB Backup from EXT_ROM2 and it runs fine. Even survives a hard reset. EXT_ROM2 space available: 1107KB, SPB Backup size: 1047KB. Leaves 60 KB space in EXT_ROM_2.

Any updates on crimsonlung's situation?

My husbands phone is through Sprint (like his) and I wantto make sure this kind of thing isnt going to happen to me if I try to flash his, and if so, what I can do if it does...

Has anyone else been successful flashing the Sprint ROM? Please PM me about it, as this thread is spreading like wildfire...

I upgraded a 6700 on Sprint. No problems so far. The lockup that occasionally happens appears to be connected with the HTC Home plugin from the today screen. There is a response some pages back that suggests using 'Safe Mode' software (try a search on this thread on 'green' ). I installed 'Safe Mode 2.1' and it seems a good option. On a soft reset the 'Safe Mode' software prompts you to boot into safe mode if needed. Then you can turn off 'Home' plugins etc and continue with the reset.

I'm using SPB Backup and haven't had any problems so far, other than the backlight reverting to 10 seconds issue. No problems with lockups.
